Wow, that was really fast getting those pictures up. They look great, thanks Walt.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Finally we get to see what those things on the red lamp post do!!! They are image projectors, maXair looks to be an awesome ride, The Que looks like it can hold about 2 ride cycles worth of people. Great Photos and Video, Thank You very much for all you do!

how you doing all this I might ask as Media Day has only just begun??? Wireless internet or something?

Is the space spiral being used to take pictures or is it just stuck there?

Anyone who attended Media Day hear a mention of a maximum height restriction for this ride? I couldn't see one on the picture of the rides's sign....

If not, anyone notice if the platform (lowering floor, etc) is built or operates any differently than PKI's Delerium?

52 Inches

The floor is on maXair is faster than Delirium. Have not heard one way or the other about maximum height.

There is high-speed Internet access in the media tent next to the ride entrance.

There is no specific maximum rider height.

Interesting, Walt. Thanks.

To everyone, any clue as to if/how Cedar Point's is different than Delerium to negate that policy?

JuggaLotus's avatar

The floor may be designed to drop further than Deleriums. There is probably a max height, but it is so far out there that there is no point in posting it because 99.99% of the population won't have to worry about it. So like if Manute Bol showed up, he might have trouble being able to ride, but the rest of shouldn't have any trouble.

I'm lovin' the games area revamping and lighting! It's going to be especially cool while riding maXair.

I gave a link to a friend in London who worked in games in 1980 to show him the upgrade.

Thanks again for the great coverage, Walt! I can't wait to ride it tomorrow.

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

Thanks a lot Walt for the spectacular coverage. I'm in Kansas now, and I can't believe I'm going to be at Cedar Point in less than three weeks!

And the fact that there is no maximum height is good news for me, since I am just a tad under 6'4". Ah it is a good day.

Wow, nice midway vision pic. They really opened up the area up. Maxair almost has it's own midway. Looks nice!!!

The photos don't do the games lighting justice. To stand at about Johnny Rocket's and look at the entire area with the dynamic lighting is just awesome. Very well done.

I spoke with Monty Jasper for a few moments and he said they used a lighter floor and a more "robust" pneumatic system to raise and lower the floor, so it's significantly faster. I thought perhaps the ride parked faster than Delirium, but that was only the case when it was not fully loaded. Sean Flaharaty said that maXair has two more full-height swings than Delirium. I'll take his word for it, because he probably rode it last week.

I did five rides between six and noon. That was plenty for me.

Seats 1-8 are the money seats.
