I did see them doing that this past Monday [19] on the Mean Streak, but after that they let us pull them down. Never saw it on Mantis, and have always seen it on Skyhawk.

Lawyers pressuring them to over do things does not mean they should crush our pelvis.
Yeah, some of us would like to have the possibility of having a family when we're older.
Here's to hoping my internet doesn't freeze up when I try to post in this thread, for the third time. It worked. :) *** Edited 6/24/2006 10:34:11 PM UTC by BlueStreak64***

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
In 2 years all coasters will stop in their block breaks in order to have a ride host double check lap bars and seat belts before allowing the train to continue.

I never thought of the added benefit of not being able to have children. :) I might need to ride Skyhawk more often.
In a few years we will only be able to ride in a protective ride bubble, then someone will find a way to get hurt on that and the new president will pass a bill saying rollercoasters are too dangerous and that they will be banned in the US. Then highway fatalities will go way up because people will try to get their thrills in their cars and motorcycles instead. Then we will see the old rollercoasters for cars come back into style because those are technically not illegal according to how the ban is worded.
We eventually get the whole rollercoaster ban repealed and history keeps repeating itself by us creating classic woodies with great airtime, then onto steel coasters made by a company that mysteriously seems a lot like arrow dynamics, and finally another company similar to intamin. Cedar Point buys large numbers of rides from both of these companies and only these companies as they celebrate their 200th year. Then the lawyers step in and claim that something isn't safe enough and here we go again!
I rode MS on Thursday, I believe. We pulled down our own lapbars.
The stapling on Skyhawk is really bad, but on some restraints the lap bars don't close all the way, the side that opens moves a bit, like on my uncles lap bar.
Hopefully it was just a weird day or something... like the day when all of the Wave Swinger employees had to rebuckle every single seatbelt before letting anyone on the ride...

I don't mind this so much on Skyhawk, because I can't always get the right angle to put it all the way down.
I'm not sure why Mantis does this (the angle is sometimes hard to reach, but it's possible) but the crew this year is doing such a good job at getting trains out on time, I don't mind here either.
Mean Streak's insane airtime of course must be the culprit there. ;)
How are we to breathe on these rides when the ride hosts like to push on our stomachs, with these lap bars or restraints, so we cant get oxygen if i cant do my own lap bar i wont ride ,im not goint to be uncomfortable
Is there a smooth seat on MS ?

3rd train of the Season on MF! 2007
I think its because
1) mean streak is getting older and its starting to show our first trip to the park this year right when we were supposed to ride there was a girl that was stuck in it for almost a half an hour it was rediculous I got the feeling that she knew some of the employees though because they were talking to her like they knew her but f it had been me I would have so freaked out
2) skyhawk is new and if the restraints arent pushed the right way it messes up the ride we rode that after mean streak and the girl working the ride was clearly flustrated that she asked for everyone to put their hands up and not touch it but then the people sitting next to us did and she had to go to the end of the swing and press something that made all of the restraints go back up again
3)mantis lets you pull down your restraint they just dont want you to buckle the seat belt i don't know why but i'm sure they have a good reason

In my opinion, the Blue Streak trains show more wear and tear than the Mean Streak trains do, and I don't think they're even as old, and they don't do it on Blue Streak...
