If you seriously love woodies, then you'd know that Mean Streak is one of the worst there is. Sad it takes leaving the state to either side to experience what a good woodie consists of.

To be honest I did not ride it last year, but it is smoother than two years ago, 1st half of ride is not bad at all other than the trim :( The second half still got a bit rough but it is a wood coaster and it is 21 years old, so it's understandable.
During the ace event the Trims were close to off. made the ride 10x better. Only reason I rode 8 times in a row...
Like I said before it's greatly improved however give it a year or two and it will be terrible again.
At that point... Tear er down
I rode it last night and I was amazed at how much more smooth it was compared to last year. I rode twice because I enjoyed it so much. I always liked the ride, but I haven't enjoyed the ride as much as I do now. It could be my poor memory, but it felt like the ride was slower than last year. It might just be that I wasn't bouncing out of my seat like years past.

I gave up riding it two years ago due to the back pain it induced. I decided to try it again this evening due to what I read here. Wow. It hasnt been that smooth since my first ride on it in 1993. While I was impressed with the smooth ride i offered, I was still disappointed about its speed. There is nothing that can be done to bring that back without a major rework. BTW, I spoke with 2 ride ops that confirmed that they are able to manually open the trims on the first hill :). Wouldn't it be nice if they kept them open for an exclusive coastermania ert? It would only be for a short time of course, but us enthusiests would love it!! Especially now that it has been smoothed out.
