Is Mean Streak really running smoother this year, and if so, how much smoother? I love Mean Streak either way, it's one of my favorites , and I always have Mean Streak marathons as there is never really a line. It'd be great if I wouldn't have to beat up anymore, though.

If it is running smoother than last year I would hate to have ridden it last year. Last week this was honestly the roughest coaster ride I have ever been on. I love woodies but this thing was horribly rough.

If you seriously love woodies, then you'd know that Mean Streak is one of the worst there is. Sad it takes leaving the state to either side to experience what a good woodie consists of.

It is much smoother. I got 8 laps in at the ACE event in the back row without needing medical attention after getting off.

Give it time.... it'll go to S*it

To be honest I did not ride it last year, but it is smoother than two years ago, 1st half of ride is not bad at all other than the trim :( The second half still got a bit rough but it is a wood coaster and it is 21 years old, so it's understandable.

It's a horrible excuse of a coaster. Tear it down I say!

During the ace event the Trims were close to off. made the ride 10x better. Only reason I rode 8 times in a row...

Like I said before it's greatly improved however give it a year or two and it will be terrible again.

At that point... Tear er down

I rode it last night and I was amazed at how much more smooth it was compared to last year. I rode twice because I enjoyed it so much. I always liked the ride, but I haven't enjoyed the ride as much as I do now. It could be my poor memory, but it felt like the ride was slower than last year. It might just be that I wasn't bouncing out of my seat like years past.

It's now boring and smooth.

Like a crappy beer made easier to drink.

If it was your first time riding it, you would think it was pretty rickety. If you had ridden it before, you would think it was butter.

I just went Thursday, it was so much better. I love it so much that I did it 12 times.

Wow...that video makes it look like it used to blaze through the second half. I never remember that.

As much as I love wooden coasters, they're so much work to keep up and frequently a sad story like this with age, at least with PTC trains.

I gave up riding it two years ago due to the back pain it induced. I decided to try it again this evening due to what I read here. Wow. It hasnt been that smooth since my first ride on it in 1993. While I was impressed with the smooth ride i offered, I was still disappointed about its speed. There is nothing that can be done to bring that back without a major rework. BTW, I spoke with 2 ride ops that confirmed that they are able to manually open the trims on the first hill :). Wouldn't it be nice if they kept them open for an exclusive coastermania ert? It would only be for a short time of course, but us enthusiests would love it!! Especially now that it has been smoothed out.

Ffej;

Of course the trim on the drop is horrible, but yes, many forget how much faster it used to go through the second half of the course as well. In every facet, it is completely neutered, not just drop # 1.
