Mean Streak-Is it just me or......

I must say, I rode the Mean Streak on 5/24 and it was much better than last year.. It is still kinda jerky but i think that is what is great about it. Adds to the intensity. A couple years ago it was really bad and gave me a headache. But if ya'll wanna know the absolute worse and most torturing woodie, its the Son Of Beast and Kings Island.. I rode that stupid ride and in the middle of i was actually kind of scarred because it hurt so much. The loop was no thrill either and there is NO legroom at all. My legs were cocked to the side and my knees were banging on the cart and against each other. That ride ruined my day. Finally, I owe it to you Mean Streak, thanks for making the ride enjoyable!!

I want to ride a rollercaster NAKED!!

Have any of you guys been on Predator in the backseat, or rather, RWB a few years back. Yeah, MS is smooth as glass compared to them. Just like the SLCs, if you ride it how they tell you too, it's going to hurt a lot more. Do like Rideman said, don't sit all the way back.
Mean Streak was one of my favorite rides....until yesterday. It was a terrible ride. The whole time I thought the train was going to fly off the track! It was really rough too. Very jerky. I rode it a second time hoping for a better ride....no luck though. Second time was as bad as the first. I was really disappointed. I was there 2 weeks ago and the ride was great. I am going back on Saturday hoping that Mean Streak will redeem itself.

Looking at posts from the past few years...

Here, here, or here (all from different years)

Mean Streak always seems to have "improved" at the beginning of the season (at least in some people's eyes). The bottom line is that the ride may seem to have improved...but it's still the same old MS.

I think it makes you feel as if your brain is viberating.....it even made my teeth chatter. I didn't like it at all. I didn't get any air time. I couldn't wait for it to end actually.

I have avoided the MS for years because I always walked away from it with what felt like whiplash, but since the redid the tracks, I decided to give it a try.

Yes, it is totally different, but uncomfortable for me either way. That's my opinion, I am not bashing any of you, I know a lot of people love it!

I've now been on it twice this year, which is 200% more than last year. It was running pretty well this week, even lubricated enough to not squeal, but it's just not a very interesting ride. I still wouldn't want to see it go unless it was replaced by another wood ride.

I thought that last year was the best for the Mean Streak since the trims were added to the lift hill. And after today i still think 2003 was the best for that ride. I always ride in the same seat and while not up to its original quality the ride last year did offer some fun.

But today (i guess yesterday by now) it was running like the bad ol days from a few years ago. Slow, bumpy and boring. When that happens all you can do is let go and keep forward off the back of the seat.

:( i hated it when the trim breaks were added, meanstreak went from my 4th fav in the park to my 8th. It goes so much slower now, i loved that out of control feeling it had on the last run arond the ciruit, it made you feel as if you were gonna nail your head and arms on the wooden posts above and around you, it was an amazing experience, now its just blah. C'Mon CP, take the trims off! Same Goes with Mantis Take the Trims Off!

P.S. Every 3 trains the trims on the big hill are shut off, maybe thats why someof you say your ide was good and others bad, maybe you were the lucy ones to get the trims off on your run

I was at the park on 6-2--6-4. I rode MS onetime, and yes, only one. I wasn't impressed at all. I do know however that it is a very famous ride and alot of people love it, but personally, It did not thrill me at all. That space would be great however for a floor-less coaster. Just a thought...
They should tear that thing down and put up a wooden coaster...oh, wait....
This year I've been to CP 4 times and I've ridden Mean Streak 6 times. This year it is much better than it was last year. I really didn't feel any difference of speed on the hill. Hell, I didn't even know that added trims. I don't particulary like woodies but it's there so i'll ride it.
