mean streak?

Sunday was insane. The whole park was really crowded. I have to work on Mean Streak all day next saturday. Fun, fun... I'm just hoping the crew will give me a trimless test ride. :)

Justin I thought you were going to work Magnum??Saturday was busy.....sunday wasnt that bad...mmmm chocolate ice cream lol hahahaha
Well I was but I guess now they don't need anyone. So I'm getting sent to Mean Streak! Yippy... I'm kinda mad because David and Jeff are gonna be back on Saturday and I wanted to work with them but I'll get to on Sunday. Rotation is gonna be confusing with 3 blue tags this weekend. Can't wait to work Super and get to listen to music! :-)

You know, another reason they put the trims in there is because of people like my aunt who complain about the "roughness" of the ride. I say, if you dont like rough, then dont ride it, But thats what a great wood coaster is all about. No rough on MS, no great insane wood coaster experience.
Ha, I think its funny when people complain about the low lines on Mean Streak. We should be happy (that’s if you like the ride, of course) that the lines are short. Believe it or not, Mean Streak doesn't have the worst capacity neither. Heck, I remember last year they were running 3 trains and the line was still 15 minutes. Its not that bad of a ride, but of course, it could be better (everything can be better in some sense). Just be happy that the line isn't two hours long, and you waited that whole two hours just to be disappointed (which most people are, but personally I love it).

Im sorry, but when the train leaves the station into the turnaround before the lift, and its shaking you around, that is a bad sign of things to come.

Great looking coaster, horrendous ride.

Then repair and permanantly fix the TRACK not the speed and the great ride that it could be.
The only way they are going to improve MS, is if they put a Chiropractor's office at the exit. Hey, then maybe they could afford to re-profile it! Imagine that!

And the squeeling? Hehe, me and my roomates affectionatley renamed it the Mean Screech.

I just call it Old Square Wheels. The name says it all.

Proud to be on the train when ST Kara took her 1,000 lap on Shivering Timbers.

I quite favor the name Mean Squeak.

And when going up the lift, if the train going up the lift makes a loud *CRACK* sound (like an axle or something of the like breaking), and the train starts to tip side to side up the lift, the coaster needs to be fixed. Soon.

I heard through several reliable sources that Mean Streak will not receive any major adjustments or alterations to fix the so-called bouncy ball effect. These sources tell me that Monty Jasper stated that the brakes on the top of the lift hill will remain because they cut down the cost of the yearly repairs (I think that is bullcrap!), and that only damaged areas will be repaired as they occur. A great portion of it was retracked not too long ago, but that did not improve the performance at all. I will tell you that a couple days after it rolled back off the first fan turn, the brakes on the lift hill were significantly adjusted (either turned off or turned way down). I rode it then, and it screamed and ripped along the track like opening year. The next day, Mean Streak was back in the slump because the brakes were turned back on. I hoped that it had been fixed, but I had false hopes... :-(
When I was at the park this past Saturday, I ran into Monty Jasper, and asked him about MS, and if they were planning to do anything with it. Though I don't remember his exact responce, the impression I got is that beyond the normal work done all the time, not much will be done with the ride. I can ask the guys with me if that is what they interpreted his responce to be, but I think he has no real plans for it.

Also, when I rode it on Saturday with my friends, amazingly the sqeal was gone. So maybe they will at least keep it from squealing next year. That noise is annoying.

Oh, and I like the chiropractor's office idea at the exit. On a visit last year, we called it the Back Breaker, a name repeated by the ride-op to the station after we told him :-)

Oh, come on now!!! A good woodie should have some squeal when it rips around turns. I don't care if a CCI (now Gravity Desings) does not squeal... GD's are great, but I think some squeal is a good sign of a fast woodie.
