Mean Streak

There are brakes. I'm not sure where the best place to sit is, but I enjoy the front. It seems to be a little less rough ( but still rough enough to be fun) than the rest of the cars. One tip that I have is to try and lean forward a bit so that your head doesn't bang against the headrest. It's quite painful, and most likely isn't too good for you either ;) Same goes for Blue Streak. For some reason, I enjoy both MS and BS quite a bit :) MS could have more air, but it's roughness and the lats that it pulls make it a really fun ride. BS is all about that little hill after the drop . . . leave the harness loose, and you'll have fun all day long :)

Ick, going there for Mean Streak? Gonna ride it first? I'm so sorry :(

Mean Streak gives its smoothest ride in the front seat of any car. That's because you are sitting between the axles. The back seat puts you right on top of the axle, where bumps are easily transferred to your spine.

Florida may have Disney World and Key West,
but Ohio has Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay.
It's great to live in Ohio!

My response to this coaster is OUCH! We were there last week and I must be getting old. it jerked me so much I thought my spine was completely out of alignment <sigh> and I LOVE any kind of coaster!!!
Definately riding in the front seat of any car in the train helps a ton.

Consequently I absolutely love The Beast @ PKI. I don't think that it is too rough. Sure, Ryan, it is a rough ride, but not too rough. Not MS rough by any means. How did you feel about SoB then? That is the roughest coaster I have ever ridden. I have been on it a few times and don't really care to ever do it again.

I love how rough Mean Streak is, thats what give it character. I dont care how tough Mean Streak is i will do it no matter what.

I went to CP with a couple who had never been there. They wanted to ride it but I was trying to get them not to go. We went and they hated it but for some reason I thought it was good. Not great but good. It did have the brakes on but it was fast. Not much banging but maybe I am better at riding it. I would actually ride it again now.
I'm not sure if you can blame the roughness on the design or anything else. It is a big-fast woodie. Son of Beast is a much rougher ride than MS, and it is 9 years younger. It is just the wood and speed combo that causes the pain.

The best thing about Six Flags "Worlds of Adventure" is that Cedar Point is nearby!

Son of Beast is also just slightly 200 plus feet tall, it includes a loop, AND has 2 crazy helixes. what exactly is Mean Streak's claim to fame? i know it was the tallest wooden coaster for its time, but what else?

Couldn't they just place more supports at the bottom of the first hill? I'm bot an expert but this might work?

MilleNNium is spelled with two n's people!

They could but they barely have enough room around there anyways. I'm not even sure that would help the ride. I think it's pretty much runined by now. :(

Yes, they had brakes last year when I went, haven't went this year yet. As far as seating, don't sit in very front, unless you want to be shaken to death.

I was at SFFT last week, and rode the Rattler. Mean Streak is an afternoon nap on a barcalounger compared to a back-seat Rattler ride. That said, I actually rode the darn thing three times; front seat rides weren't horrible, and the seats are nicely padded. Decent padding on Mean Streak would go a long way to improving the ride experience.

It's not war, famine, or pestilence; it's only downtime.

After 2 horrifying and pain filled rides on Son of Beast, Mean Streak(and any other woodie) just gives me the giggles. I got into a nasty accident last year(totalled my car) and "Sonny" made me feel the same sensations such as nausea(I don't get sick on rides ever), ringing in my ears, piercing headache, and a whole body-ache. I find it hard to believe that someone hasn't been seriously injured on that ride. Okay sorry folks, I'll stop now, but I think you get my point.

Two people got their necks broke on SOB but they had some condition. Now as a result, there are verbal warnings in line, or so I've read. I have yet to go to PKI.

I rode the MS on sunday and it felt as if the brakes were working. I had the misfortune of standing behind a "coaster know it all" who needed to compensate. This gentleman proceeded to tell my kid and I in excruciating detail about the trims ect... All I said was "its still really fast and fun" and to me and most riders this is all that matters!

Alright, don't ride Mean Streak first, it is a great ride but it won't be busy all day. It is always a fifteen minute wait or less usually, but you should give it time to warm up. But while you are riding this ride, you have two options, put your hands up and get tossed around (some people like this) or keep your hands down and keep your hold your body firmly in the seat. I always enjoy this ride, but I like to keep my hands down after the first hill cause I always leave happy, but with a headache.

But if you are going to go to a resort, than you should use the exclusive morning ride time to get on Dragster or Millenium Force, they're alot of people any day of the week and alot of people who get exclusive ride time in the morning because they are a Cedar Point Resort Guest or in Joe's Cool Club.

Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!

I suggest this to all you Mean Streak haters...ride this queen at night....she's awesome. Definately a hidden jewel. Season-goers will know what I mean.
