Mean Streak 2010

Mean Streak was only running two trains and a Green PTC train was sitting where all the "spare trains" are.

Dose the ride run better with two trains like Corkscrew or are they fallowing Kennywood's theology that it's better to have a line and full trains then no line and empty seats

Ride was as rough as always.

I don't think it runs better with 2 trains. But, it does ride better with full trains. How long was the wait? I suppose it's possible the green train isn't completely ready.

I agree with Jason, however I do enjoy the walk-on aspect that Mean Streak always tends to have. I waited 13 mins for the front seat, and could have walked on if I wanted any other.

I have to disagree with you when it comes to roughness though. Comparing this ride to my Halloweekends ride, it was rough, but not nearly as rough as it was in October. It was retracked and I though they did a great job.

The line was back to the entrance on opening day.

Is it just me or does the green train always jerk the rider more? The gold is my favorite and the red is nice too but the green is always a little jerky.

The roughness typically is worse when the wheels are older. You probably just rode the green train when it had the oldest wheels.

As for running 3 trains, who knows? Mean Streak is pretty easy to run 3 trains without stacking because it is so long, but we may just have to wait and see.

Saturday only two. Yellow and Red. No green on transfer track, unless it joined Millennium's Green train.

I always look forward to my ride on Mean Streak each year, as the experience varies greatly with the roughness.

I was in defense of Mean Streak for a long time, but 2009 was an awful season for it. It jackhammered so badly last year, that I finally gave up on it. I assumed that new middle track support they added in 09 had something to do with it.

Anyway, I'm seeing a trend that it's a bit smoother this season, so I can't wait to try it out Wednesday.

I suspect the green train just isn't ready to go yet. Dragster had 2 trains missing and I believe Maverick was still missing one. It's early in the season so they aren't completely necessary yet.

My Mean Streak ride on Sunday was probably the worst one I've ever had. I've not felt jackhammering that hard since I last rode Son of Beast. But my friend in the car behind mine said his ride wasn't abnormally bumpy, so I suppose it was just my car.

We saw the Mean Streak line as we were coming around to the Soak City lot and avoided it. It will have to wait until next time.

I did notice that there are entirely new sections of the ride. Where the ride turns around and goes over the lift hill, appeared to be new railings, walkway, cross rails and track. I couldn't see the whole ride from our vantage point, but it looked liek there were a couple more sections rebuilt like this.

You know what would make Mean Streak comfortable would be if they added trains like the ones that Holiday World added for Voyage. Just a suggestion for Cedar Point.

Do you think the green train will come out this season? I know its early, but usually they have all 3 trains on and ready on opening day. It will really help the line on busier days, because it is such a long ride.

After riding Mean Streak on opening day all I have to say is that it was my last time. Hate that ride.

That's what they all say. Mean Streak is the ultimate abusive spouse: no matter how much it beats us up, we'll always give it one more chance.

Hey, maybe it's changed. And besides, the line to ride it seems short...

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

Is it normal for the car to bounce while going up the hill, like one side was off the track? that was freaky. I gave this piece one last chance this year, it failed. I actually was sore the next day from that individual ride, not even kidding. I'm done.

The ride I had on opening day, was my last for a while. It was the worst ride that I have ever had on the ride. Just brutal.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

^^Oh I forgot about the right side of the train lifting on the way up the lifthill. That might be the first time I have been scared on a ride in a long time.

Let's Get Weird.

As for the train or car lifting up, if you happened to be in the 3rd car if I recall, that is the car with the chain dog and lifts when it catches the chain sometimes. I have noticed this in years past.

As for the ride itself, this has to be the worst I have ever felt it. Aside from the ~100' - 150' of the track that was redone, it is ablolutely horrible! The new section is awesome followed by what has to be the worst section of track.

Beeeeehhhhhhh!!!!!

Where exactlly was the new section of track at? I thought I noticed a new section of track before the mid course brake run, before the hill into the mid course brake run.
