It's a good, if not tragically flawed ride. I'm assuming you've never ridden it and just saw a breathtaking picture of it, so I'll break it down in its entirety.
Most people agree that it's a bit on the rough side, but this is often often exaggerated to the extreme. The roughness is probably due to the combination of 1) too great a height for a wooden coaster (excessive wear), 2) the lack of true articulating trains, and of course 3) a horrible job of lubricating the track (I believe I've read that they lubricate the track in *no* way). I see the biggest problem as being the jokes of trains currently running on the ride. Because the cars don't move independently as well as they should, the trains have trouble tracking turns. This becomes very apparent when the straight drops feel relatively smooth when compared to the other portions of the ride. To compound the problems with roughness, the trains are padded with that disgusting "injected foam stuff." This stuff literally transmits any and all vibration directly into your body (I recommend sitting forward for this reason).
It's also worth mentioning that the first drop is HEAVILY trimmed. This is pretty much understandable considering the amount of wear and tear Mean Streak inflicts upon itself.
Don't let all of this convince you that Mean Streak is a bad ride. It's very enjoyable and has some great speed. I'm just letting you know that although Mean Streak's appearance lends it to being possibly the best-looking coaster in existence, it's merely a *good* ride.
Hope all this rambling helps...:)
