I haven't posted here in a while (almost a year) but I'm back. I took a trip today and was amazed at the small crowds. I've never seen anything like today. Every ride (with the exception of MF and powere tower on the drop side) was a complete walk-on.
It was a beautiful day today, when we arrived at CP at aprox. 10:45 it was already over 70 degrees and not a cloud in sight. It reached a high of just over 80 I think, but there was a cool wind that kept things comforatable.
MF had a wait of less than 15 minutes all 4 times I rode it today. They were not running the blue train today... but hey.. they didn't need to. The only dissapointments I had were the violent shakes of the Magnum pretzel turn and MF losing its "brand new car" flawlessness. What I mean by that is that when I rode it last year it was like a brand new car; not a lot of noise, PERFECTLY smooth and a high gloss. Although MF was still as flawless as you can basically get, I noticed a few extra noises (like that tick noise that freight trains make) that I didn't notice last year. I'm not complaining though.. MF is still #1 in my book.
Raptor looks GREAT (except the bird pooh). Raptor was the #2 crowd pleaser of the day (in tearms of how many people cheered when asked "how was your ride?")
Well.. i hate to ramble so let me just say everything is working great. Also good job to the ride ops for keeping excitement and orginization even with a small crowd.
Tips:
#1) 7th row on MF is the most balanced ride on MF
#2) Never let your friend push your lap bar one latch too low when in Magnums ejector seat
#3) If you bring girls, also bring quarters because every ride on MF will cost you 75 cents
#4) 5 onion rings is NOT worth $3.00
P.S. no offense to anybody, but I am from Michigan and I dont know if its just me or if Ohio kinda smells funky.
Thank you for your time...

Yep, Rule #2 and #3 are a must. If you get stapled in the ejector seat its pure pain, while if you don't it pure euphoria. Whenever I go with a girl, I tell her to lever her purse in the car or were not going in!
Blue Train was off Tuesday and was halfway under a tarp. The Workhorse of the group has to get some rest sometimes. That tick noise is indeed louder, and seeing rust on the track just makes it look older than it really is. I said before to myself "something is just not right." I dose not effect the ride much, but it does take something away from its flawless appeal.
May 9th was a great day at the park. Small crowd and great weather! Got a great front seat ride on Raptor - is it just me or is it running faster this year? The crew on the Mine Ride was funny.. "taking you up 1400 centimeters!" Anyway.. Was pointed out to me that the touch up paint on MF doesn't match.. looks chalky. 3 rides on MF though - mostly 15 minute waits. Mean Streak was down when I went by, and was told it would be another hour. 5 minutes later it was running. Lesson - don't always listen to the CP employee - they don't always know. :)
Yeah may 9th was super. Reminded me of MM last fall. No lines for Raptor and around 10 minutes for MF helped me build up my endurance for the gemini 100. I picked a good afternoon to take off.

It's Dan K's fault
May 9 was excellent! Longest wait for the day for me was Mean Streak, which was only running ONE TRAIN when I was back there. The 6 PM closing caught me off-guard, but no matter--that's why I've got the season pass.
Comic highlight of the day: As my roommate and I enter the station for our only Gemini ride of the day, a train, with ONE rider in the front seat and NOBODY any place else, returns. The ride op says "Welcome back, *rider*. We hope you enjoyed your ride, *rider*". The 5 of us on the
platform waiting to ride just start laughing. On our way to the station, we hear the following spiel: "We'll lift you 125 feet--OOOOOOH! We'll drop you 119 feet--AAAAH! You'll reach a mind-numbing speed of over 60 MPH--WOOOO!" Now that's comedy!
It was nice to get 4 full "ride revolutions" on the Giant Wheel instead of two (I need to find *something* to do now that I can't play Fascination after I eat to let my food settle).
Surprise Park Employee sighting: While walking by the Mine Ride, who should walk right by us but Monty Jasper!! I wanted to thank him for the
MF pix and diary and and and....but decided not to, as it looked like he was walking with a purpose.
For me at least, walk-ons were the rule and not the exception of the day, except for MF, 1 on Raptor, and MS. A great day, without question!

FASCINATION (1955-2000): it was the game--the *only* game--I came to Cedar Point to play.
YES YES. I do recall riding Mean Streak with only One train running. That was sad.
