We get to the park at about 9:20-9:30. There was a parade going on and we had to detour around 250, and on top of that I stopped in Ionia Michigan to try and find the McDonalds, but it was like 10 miles away and I lost time there. The rain held off ALL day, yes not a single drop. WE WANTED RAIN EVEN. Why? Because unlike the 78-79 degree weather with 60% chance of rain. We had 85 degree weather (as per my dad's weather report from wunderground.com at 4:30 PM on May 26th)
We see TTD running as we enter the park (with people riding). We're like cool, so we go and get in TTD's 15 minute line and start the morning off right. Now the day is a bit foggy for some reason here now, but I believe we take off and head toward the front of the park and ride Wicked Twisted / MaxAir / Raptor. All of them with really short lines.
Then we make our way up to Millennium Force with a whopping 20 minute (if that) wait. Then Mantis was a walk on as trains were leaving the station not even full. We get off that and ride TTD again with a moderate wait of around 30 minutes. Than we head to a walk on Magnum. Blah blah. You guys get the point for the most part. We didn't catch any shows.
We even went to Soak City at 6 PM to go ride some tube rides to cool off. Soak City is pretty fun when there are no lines. My only complaint is you must buy the $5 locker, from now on we might end up just buying this locker in the morning because yes you can re-enter the locker and honestly sometimes we never grab a locker, but after losing a wallet at CP we stash things often, and we spent $4 in single use lockers, so it might be smarter to just get one in Soak City and walk that extra 200 feet. I wish Soak City had $1 lockers though.
We get out of Soak City and we have a few things we want to do...Skyhawk to dry my shirt off, Maverick, MaxAir, and TTD.
Skyhawk does dry your shirt well, but not as well as the dryers in the bathrooms by Skyhawk. Maverick had a 30 minute wait and something was different with this ride. I said to myself, my this feels a bit mavericky today. The ride was running faster than usual for some reason. My girlfriend and I who have both rode it more then 30 times came to the conclusion that ride was flippin fast. I am not a genius so I cannot guess how much faster we we're going. But it seemed like the ride was going a few mph extra.
We ride MaxAir twice in a row because its a walk on, and we miss it. The ride is awesome and we love the long ride cycle.
Than we head up to Power Tower. Once we get up the tower I look to TTD and I see trains leaving (YES), and I see no one in line, and literally the platform has enough people to send out 3 trains and it would be empty (YES). So for once I am like get me off this damn ride! (Power Tower that is, the ride I love)
So from I don't know 9:20 PM till 10:00PM we ride TTD over and over. At 9:50 they let us just hang out at the exit and board empty trains.
There was no wait time. I even have it on video. No freaking wait time guys........
You got to ride it as fast as you could run from exit to platform.
I left out a big portion of the day but it could be because for lunch I had one of them 120 ounce beers at Thirsty Pony, just kidding. I just had maybe 48 ounces of beer. But its the same ole' thing your used to hearing. We rode a ton of rides.
Here are some things I noticed...less smoking on the midways. No one is really cutting in line. Last year I had a few dads running through the line with drinks from outside the line yelling like "Bobbby!, Bobby!" and walking way the hell up the line. No problems with trash, and while I might notice some beer cups in the trash in line (especially Maverick I guess). I do not notice any troubles arising from allowing beer in line. One thing I did get for you guys this week is pictures...pictures of the cost of food. Pictures of the cost of food at tons of places inside of CP. I am thinking about taking a map of the park and making an image map over it so you can click on the food stand / etc and it will show you the picture. Until than I will just post the photo's in another thread appropriate for food prices.
I didn't get Game Day Grille, Tofts, that custard place in front of tofts, and a few other spots. But I have many of them and this might help you guys decide what to eat at the park next time.
Ride count:
MaxAir: 3x
TTD: 6x
MF: 1x
Maverick: 2x
Magnum: 4x
Power Tower: 3x
Skyhawk: 3x
Raptor: 1x
WT: 1x
Mantis: 1x
I despise smoking so when I read all these posts concerning smoking in lines and what not I expected to see it. I only saw one or two smokers and they stuck out in an ugly way.
How come there was no line for TTD? Was it down prior?
The park in general was "dead". Power Tower, Skyhawk, Magnum, MaxAir were all walk ons.
Millennium Force had 15 minute waits, Maverick had 30 minute waits if that (I've seen longer Maverick waits from morning ERT during peak season in the summer).
I think people do not think of Cedar Point on memorial day.
Top Thrill couldn't even establish a line. They really got people moving.
Memorial Day has always been the ideal day for going to the Po!nt. The only exception would be last year when Mav finally opened-the park was PACKED!
Yesterday was awesome--Raptor running like a charm, park looked great and it was just wonderful hanging at my fav place on earth all day.
I got in 7 more Raptor rides-could have gotten tons more but don't want hubby to have to sit around and watch. He did enough of that this past weekend at HW and KI.

Lifetime Raptor flights: 1335 :)
It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?
Our family went to CP on the last 2 Memorial Days, but we didn't get to go this year because we still have finals this week. That is amazing that TTD was walk on! I am sure you enjoyed it. Thanks for the pictures of the food prices too. I will check those if we get to go to CP this year.
Four discount funday tickets to Cedar Point: $130.96
Overnight stay at Breakers Express: $70
Riding rides the size of skyscrapers while "legally" breaking the local speed limit: Priceless
Nice hearing your wait time factory81, I hope there like that this week when I go up there. Nice trip report to.
Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"
OH MAN, talk about bad luck for me!!!
I was only in the park for about 2 hours between 3-5 pm. I had to leave because me and my group had JUST returned from a Hershey Park/Dorney Park trip and we only had planned on being at CP for a few hours just to get some rides in (we were tired from the trip). We saw the rain coming in on radar and thought it was best to leave before it started raining. Well that and the person I was riding with had to drop me off at my house and didn't want to stay till closing. I managed to get one Dragster ride in.........though I'm mad that I could have had more!
Now I wish I had my own car, cause I would have stayed and got my Dragster count up to 250+.:(
CURSES!!!!!

I will upload pictures of the platform being empty.
There was a downside. TONS AND TONS OF BUGS. The bugs are out...the platform, the ride, everywhere.
Yeah, George Lucas helped me with the CGI to get rid of the 9,000 people standing in line.
I was in such a hurry I didn't have time to sit and get a steady shot. I would have lost my spot on the train.
