May 24th

I got up to the Point around 2:00, and got my season pass and all that fun stuff. First stop of the day was Millennium Force. Waited around one hour (the sign had said 1.5 hours). I didn't see too much stacking of trains while in line. They seemed to be dispatching trains right on schedule. Due to high winds, a lot of rides were closed (such as Raptor, TTD...) so we just stayed around the back of the park for a while. We hovered back and forth between Meanstreak (where we got a couple of excellent rides), Magnum, and Gemini. We noticed that the wind had died down quite a bit around 5 o'clock so we started to make our way over to TTD. Sure enough, on our way it started testing so we quickly jumped in the 'line' that formed alongside the fence (Ohhh the memories from last year...). About an hour later they started letting people into the queue. We were half-way up the ramp. After a good deal of rollbacks and a few short breakdowns (possibly due to the wind picking back up now and then), we got a ride at about 7:20. They were only loading trains the first 4 rows. After this, we ran over to Millenium Force again for a few more rides before the end of the night. The line had really died down, ending around where the freeway merge point is. After waiting for the front seat with a bunch of rowdy Michigan fans, we ended up being one train short and had to jump into the second to back row for the last ride of the night. Overall, it was a great day, especially for only being there 6 hours. Even though we didn't get to ride Raptor or Wicked Twister, it was still a lot of fun. *** Edited 5/25/2004 8:02:20 PM UTC by Mox***
Nice little TR. Sorry about the high winds!
You should have gone today (5/25) I got to ride all 16, including Dragster twice and Power Tower, Demon drop and several other rides in 5 and a half hours. Millennium was a walk on, and Dragster was a 10-15 minute wait both times.

Ride Op '02-'07

I went to the park on the 24th as well and for the most part it was a pretty good day. It was a fair bit chilly with the winds whipping around but we got to the park at 10 after a five hour drive from indiana and went straight to MF. After a great ride with three newbies to the force we headed over to mean streak. Man had I forgotten how unenjoyable that ride was. Every time the train jostled I'd hit my back in the same spot on the seat and it hurt a lot. Then we headed over for a ride on magnum which was great as always. After that we noticed TTD was still down and it didnt look like it would be up at all that day, which was a dissapointment since I had yet to ride it. After that we headed over to Wicked Twister which is always such a fun ride. We wanted to ride it again later in the day but it was shut down for some reason, this was after the wind had died down so I dont know what as wrong. Upon leaving Wicked Twister it seemed natural to go to DT since it was right there. That was a stupid idea I had also forgotten over the off season how much of a dissapointment that ride is. It is just way too short for generally such a long wait. After that we left the Point to get a bite to eat. Upon returning every ride was operating except Raptor and TTD. And when we asked why raptor was still down we learned that when it is too windy Raptor doesnt have enough speed after it loops to go up the next portion of the track and it gets stuck. I guess you learn something new everytime you go to Cedar Point. We headed over to Corkscrew and I sat out to digest my food. After that we went to Mantis. After a fairly long wait we finally got on and I was pleasently surprised at how much I liked the ride. My friend complained of banging his ears but if you lean forward its a fun ride. After a short line at Power Tower and a relaxing trip on the Giant Wheel we went towards the main midway and noticed raptor was up and running but it was a long line and we figured we would catch it as we were leaving the park and hop in line. We went to get one last ride on MF and while in line we saw them testing TTD. AFter another great ride on MF we went right over to TTD and jumped in line. AFter seeing only one rollback it ran smoothly the whole night even though they didnt fill all the trains. It was definitely worth the ninety minute wait to get my first ride on that beast of a ride. Pure adrenaline for 19 seconds it was great. What a perfect way to end a great road trip to the Point. *** Edited 5/26/2004 5:43:26 AM UTC by sacman16***
