There are few and far between CP trips over the years that I look back on and just HAVE to smile or laugh at, I can definitely add yesterday to that list. Due to truck being in shop was forced to take the rental car (Buick Century-my Grandma would have LOVED this tank) and although comfy and taking railroad tracks at 40-50mph an experience, you simply CAN'T get ANY dudes (under age 50) to notice you in a Buick. Guys DIG girls in trucks, so I was pretty bummed trip down, missing my truck BAD, but happy to see that 248.9 miles total put on something else. OK-sorry-off track there. ;)
Weather-high 40's BLUE skies, sunshine-AWESOME!Got to park 9:20, parked row 2. Gates open, off to Raptor. Sam (my youngest) and I got 2 rides in (heard the comment from one of the ride ops "you here again?") and met up with Hooper for the REAL fun to begin. We headed for DT (yes DT) and ended up taking that ride for all it was worth. Not only did we have a BLAST with the ride ops, (we insisted we wanted to go to the Bahamas, not Alaska, when we got to unload station op said "welcome to the bahamas" - we lost it!) but we would purposely team up with people who we knew would freak when we went crazy. I am guessing we rode DT at least 8x straight, my stomach hurt so bad from laughing, and it was only 11am-so I just knew then and there it was going to be a great day. Our ride on MS was a blast-screaming "ouch" and watching Hooper snap his back into place when we were done (got an awesome on ride pic too-another classic for sure)
Light afternoon showers hit us, but no biggie.
Banshee was fun too (wet-but fun) especially when one of my fav ride ops announced over the loud speaker "hi Jo and Hooper!" Only did 1 MF lap since that seemed to be the longest wait (50 minutes when we did it) - awesome ride as always,
that makes 7/season and 97 lifetime for me. We went back to car and ate lunch IN the car (if it was my truck you can FORGET that) and even that was an experience, you have GOT to feed those seagulls donuts-they cant eat them and when they do...well, you just have to do it. We got additional clothes and back to park. Ended up heading back to Raptor :) 6pm and there we stayed and rode another 13x. NONE of those 13 rides were the same, besides me "playing" ride op (couldnt help it) Hooper and I took the most classic on ride pic EVER - (I emailed it to my buds) we showed it to all the ops they LOVED it! We also accidentially lost 2 park maps while riding-go figure! We all sadly (but happily) departed the park at closing (after seeing Dave and Dave) and I can add it to another one of those trips Hooper, Sam and I will be talking about for years!
No rain the whole drive home, proving yesterday was a charmed day.
It was swesome seeing all my CP friends/family again, and even meeting a couple new ones (who knew ME-scary) And even better NOT seeing some people. We did get to see Mr Skyward - Raptor shirt this time. A day at CP just doesnt seem complete without seeing him.
Hooper I had a GREAT time-we gotta do it again!!
So here is my wrap up (for those of you keeping track I have been to CP every week since it opened-so glad I stuck by my "Im not going that much this year" ;))
