This will be my first visit of the 2006 Season.... anyone else gonna be at the point for this weekend? Im hoping for relatively light crowds seeing that its the weekend before Memorial Day.... but maybe everyone else is thinking that as well...

That should be a good time to come. Since this is before the majority of schools have let out, you should be fine.
Nornaly I'd be there that time of year, but I'll be in Kansas City, for Coaster Mayhem riding Patriot. :)

I'm there May 19-21 at Lighthouse Point. Please find a nice bench along the midway while your there, plop your butt on it, and stay the heck out of line.
MrScott needs his space. :)

Haha sorry... Ill be in lines all day... or hopefully a lack thereof... Perhaps we can work in counter fashion around the park, and make everyone else sit on benches....

Well, we're gonna be at LHP May 18-19, as we're hoping to avoid the crowds (and higher cost of lodging) even moreso.
Let's all do a sunshine & nice weather dance!
MrScott - You'll be at LHP, no? And, no, I won't sit on a bench... dj needs his space more! ;)
Brandon
I think Mr. Scott considers the LHP cabins as his summer house that he just has to pay for every time he decides to use them. ;)
Well, thats good to know. Does he get similar perks as the mayor of Detroit gets? If so, I'm his new best friend! :)
Brandon
You folks crack me up! I get no perks as Mayor. As far as doing a "sunshine dance", rain can be your friend when staying on property. A little rain or storms empties the park of day guests, while you head back to the cabin/cottage/hotel and wait it out. You then return to an empty park. If your there a few days/couple of nights, you'll have time to do everything that you want to, even if you do see some yucky weather. And early to mid May can be nasty, at times. I've never had a wash out or freeze out for the whole trip, but it CAN get nasty for awhile.

We pray for rain during the july trip.Oh by the way mayor,I want to run for dog catcher.

Dogs are not allowed on CP property, other than Camper Village. They should be staying at PetChek while you are visiting the park. I believe that you may board them at PetChek, if you are staying at LHP or one of the hotels.
cpdad is now the designated dog catcher of LHP. :)

Can I be deputy mayor if no one else is running? MrScott, I think you and I would make a great team.:)
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
So, our trip is planned for the weekend of the 19th-21st. We're actually staying the nights of the 19th & 20th, in a LHP cabin.
I'm in charge of orchestrating the entire trip, and as such am responsible for making the reservations. The problem is, there are going to be 6 of us, and there are a couple that have a slight possibility of not going at the last minute. This being the case, I'm hesitant to make the reservations just yet, so as to avoid getting stuck with a cabin for 2 people.
How long could I wait before making a reservation before I run a big risk of there being none available? Keep in mind that we want a cabin, but would settle for a cottage, if it came down to it.
Brandon
Settle for a cottage? I think I like the cottages better than the cabins. BOTH are good! Make your resevations for whatever...But make them now. Things fill up quickly.
PS: The cabins are more kid friendly, with the loft.

So, you think LHP will sell out for that weekend?
Regardless, I'll make my reservations on Friday.
Brandon
LHP sells out on weekends throughout the summer. I don't know if it will sell out on that weekend or not. We always book early to make sure we get one.
Mine is already booked for that weekend. Who knows, we may be neighbors!
