That should be a good time to come. Since this is before the majority of schools have let out, you should be fine.
Nornaly I'd be there that time of year, but I'll be in Kansas City, for Coaster Mayhem riding Patriot. :)

You folks crack me up! I get no perks as Mayor. As far as doing a "sunshine dance", rain can be your friend when staying on property. A little rain or storms empties the park of day guests, while you head back to the cabin/cottage/hotel and wait it out. You then return to an empty park. If your there a few days/couple of nights, you'll have time to do everything that you want to, even if you do see some yucky weather. And early to mid May can be nasty, at times. I've never had a wash out or freeze out for the whole trip, but it CAN get nasty for awhile.

Dogs are not allowed on CP property, other than Camper Village. They should be staying at PetChek while you are visiting the park. I believe that you may board them at PetChek, if you are staying at LHP or one of the hotels.
cpdad is now the designated dog catcher of LHP. :)

So, our trip is planned for the weekend of the 19th-21st. We're actually staying the nights of the 19th & 20th, in a LHP cabin.
I'm in charge of orchestrating the entire trip, and as such am responsible for making the reservations. The problem is, there are going to be 6 of us, and there are a couple that have a slight possibility of not going at the last minute. This being the case, I'm hesitant to make the reservations just yet, so as to avoid getting stuck with a cabin for 2 people.
How long could I wait before making a reservation before I run a big risk of there being none available? Keep in mind that we want a cabin, but would settle for a cottage, if it came down to it.
