May 18th-19th

I Got picked up around seven AM Saturday. First thing we rode was Magnum. Magnum has really improved from two weeks ago, but stacking was still a major problem. The park was overly crowded today, and I'll see if Kally will help me out with any of this. We rode White Water Landing, Monster, Rail Road, Gemini, Wicked Twister (back seat), Disaster Transport, Demon Drop, Sky Ride, Space Spiral, and Midway Carousel. The weather was horrible and the rides were constantly braking down. It was also very crowded. We ended up retiring back to the hotel at five.

Sunday was much better. Not to crowded although Millennium Force and Mantis had obscenely long lines. We used our ERT on Wicked Twister and Raptor first thing. Then headed over to Power Tower and Iron Dragon. Got a few laps on Wicked Twister, Disaster Transport, and Magnum. Also catched the Rock America show at the Red Garter. All in all a fun trip, although Saturday was a lost cause, Sunday was at least decent.

Hey I was there on Saturday-Monday and I also noticed a lot of rides breaking down. Most notably was probobly me on Millennium Force at 11, what a rush to start the day. (Although it wasn't quite what I had in mind) Gemini, Millennium Force, Mantis, Disaster Transport, and Wild Cat all broke down during the day. To my luck, I got on most of them as they reopened, and my longest wait then was Millennium Force at 10 minutes. They still had the trim on Mantis, but it was nice to see the sweat marks off the harnesses for once! hehe...

Stacking on Magnum!? How was that? Were they setting up? Must've been because Magnum can't stack trains without setting up! :) It is normal for the train to come to a stop on the ready breaks for maybe 10 seconds. You usually hit the readies as the a train is dropping off the lift. Then when that train crests the second hill, the one in the station is dispatched and when about 2 cars are out of the station, you'll come into the station.

It's also interesting to note that the Magnum crew is probably dispatching about 1-2 seconds earlier this season because when the train gets to the top of the second hill, they can dispatch. They don't need to knock-knock, knock-knock, and then dispatch. Of course last year when I was in controls, I usually knocked early so we'd dispatch when it was at the top of the second hill and not on the way down the hill! :)
