May 14th..not quite a walk on
Raptor Jo made the long and boring haul to CP. My "mini me" decided she didnt want to miss school so I decided to do the solo thing. I swore every single high school kid was there with me,
but no way I would turn back. Off to Raptor, the crew was awesome, even ones I hadn't met yet knew who I was, rode 2x-off to MF. After remembering to eat lunch (when Im into riding I forget to eat) rode Raptor again and ended up hooking up with Rob (totally by accident, we were stacked and I happened to look down on the on coming crowd and there Rob stood, he knew to look in seat 8-1 for either Hooper or I-go figure) So I got to hang with Rob for the 1st time and really did have a blast. Besides making fun of people (remember Drew Carey's spandex line :)) our trip on MS was a hoot, Hothitz was at entrance when we started and by the time we rode (front car) he was on controls. His tl was on spiels and she said "get ready to ride the ride thats better than Raptor" Of course I went ballistic. Rob and I took the CLASSIC on ride photo (I am still sorry I didnt fork out the $8.01 for it) and when we got back to the station the tl said "welcome back Mean Streakers-was your ride better than Raptor?" Of course a chorus of "NO!!!" We hit up MF a couple more times, Mine Ride (hi Natalie!!-made it fun for her) I finally went inside the Red Garter, ended my day with Raptor and left park around 6:15. Good trip over all, bad whiplash yesterday and today, always a sign of a good day at CP!
Total rides: Raptor 5x (up to 386)
MF: 4x (up to 96)
Banshee: 2x (adore this ride, always
will)
BS: 4x
MS: 1x
CCMR: 1x
High points: Hearing Raptor lost a wheel
Seeing a Banshee walk down
Seeing tons more people I knew
The tons of hugs I got/gave
Definitely the highest points for me:
Having to do Raptor's entrance for
minute while the ride op grabbed a
shoe I saw under the 1st hill - just
having that candy cane in my hand
for that second made me get excited
about working there again
Getting to sit in the control booth
with one of my fav ride ops talking
to her for a while, cant wait to do
controls!
The low points:
Pit stop on way home, apparently
some &^^%$# tried to make it around
my truck and miscalculated-trashed
my back quarter panel and bumper.
Called the CP police when I got home
to file a police report, when I gave
him my name the officer said "is
this that Raptor Jo?" I DIED!!! :)
Even the cops know me!!! Truck will
be fine, but dont think Im not jacked
up about it.
I really did have a great time, the only thing missing was one of my kids or my b/f, but doubt they all could have kept up with me anyway! :)
Next trip--next week? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Got estimate yesterday, so now I can definitely say that May 14th was the most expensive trip to CP ever-costing me my $250.00 deductable. Luckelly for me I got to split a $850.00 purse with the owner of this barrel racer who kicked RUMP in our last show-that horse can kick some serious cans!! Anyway total is like 400.00, not including the rental car which I will have to be seen in for 2 days -- eeek I hate cars! No biggie really it could have been alot worse I guess!!

Sorry to hear abotu it Jo.. I had a blast finally getting to ride with ya on Monday... And to think, I almost made it home Sunday night and wouldn't have been at the park Monday to ride with you if logic hadn't taken over.
I swear the MS crew must have it out for me this season... hehehehe Again, great riding with ya and too bad I didn't get to meet the b/f, he's one lucky man..
