May 11, 12, 13 LHP overview

There is nothing better than spending a weekend at the point with good friends. For the weekend I knocked out 49 laps on Magnum to bring me up to 1401 for the last four years and 135 for the season!

Anyway the main point of this trip report is for you to stop what you are doing, pick up the phone and make reservations for Lighthouse Point. WOW! Jeff, Dana, Julia, Anne and I had a blast. I think that I might limit my stays at breakers to once a year and spend my time and money on LHP.

We stayed in Cottage #6 right on the water and it was just awesome. The view was amazing. You can sit on the main deck and watch the sun set or look out the back windows and get awesome views of Magnum, Gemini, Mean Streak and MF. The cottages can sleep 6 people very easily. They have a decent size fridge, microwave, bathrooms are great and the master bedroom is nice as well. Overall well worth the money.

The coolest thing for me was waking up Sunday morning, throwing on some shoes and taking a jog. I ran from my cabin, down to the beach gate, and back around Magnum back to our cabin. WOW it was great.

Don't trash LHP until you stay there! I couldn't beleive the amount of trashing people were doing on here before it was even open. Granted the landscaping is not done, but all around it really gave CP the resort feel that I don't get very often and I just had a great time!

I can't agree more with Dan! We did indeed have a wonderful time and Lighthouse Point is truly a great new asset for the Point. Be patient as the Landscaping comes in but I agree that my breakers trips are numbered as long as I can get a Cabin for at or near the same price as LHP. Nice part was when we were ready to eat we all retreated back to Cottage for a BBQ lunch on the deck on the Water...Way Cool! Also nice to sit back and relax with good freinds after the Park Closes and have the lit up coasters as a wonderful backdrop.

Also Dan theres no Pfiles to get in trouble with :)

mf laps = 100! No More No Less!!
We're debating Cottage vs. Cabin.

I'm told the cottage on the Lake have bed & bunkbed in bedroom & Futon in living room. I want my 3 kids in the living room & I want the bed for me & the wife. It seems like that sleeping arrangement is only available in the Cabins. Any info?? How's the view from the cabins? When's the landscaping going to be done?

I'm pretty sure that since this thread is over a year old the landscaping is done.

Look at Dan's signature in the original post...that's freaky! ("911 is not an option")

Less than 4 months later...9/11/01...

"If we go any faster, she'll blow apart for sure!"

The reason my sig said that was because that opening weekend I bought a Magnum shirt and the slogon on the shirt said 911 is not an option. Its now packed away with the rest of the "collection"
