MaXair needs swing 360 degrees

That would be awesome. Any chance can it do that?

No airtime. What's up with people and inversions anyway?

Not possible. It would E-stop itself before it even got close to going over the top.

MaxAir doesn't need to go 360 degrees. It's absolutely fine the way it is. :) A model like MaxAir with a counterweight would be very slow on the swings and not nearly as fun.

I think that a Mondial Ultra Max will do what you're looking for.

No ride at Cedar Point is ever going to be changed in this manner. If they weren't built to operate that way, they never will. Just like TTD will never be "added on to" and Mean Streak's track will never be replaced with steel track.

I agree with DBCP and Taipan.
It wasn't ment to be that way. Never will happen.
But would be cool if it did.

I also think it's scary enough as it is. :) *** Edited 7/9/2006 7:36:30 PM UTC by DrunkinMonkey***

Gomez is right, when you reach the peak of the swing you get that airtime. It's alot better than going all the way around, IMO.

I don't believe maXair's supports could handle the torque/stresses of swinging that heavy gondola and arm all the way around. And think of the power that would be needed to get it all the way around. I don't think the motors could handle it. Ever notice the slight shudder on the first several swings? I like to think of it as a car changing gears. :)

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

I feel like MaXair (or in my case, Delirium) sort of goes upside down anyway. There are points when it's at the top of the swing where you are held head down, which is all you really need.

I've always thought going upside down is an okay thing, and definitely makes some rides what they are, but each to their own I guess. Most rides you aren't upside down long enough to really know, but not all. Son of Beast and Mantis come off the top of my head for good long-ish inversions.

Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

i too feel that they go "upside down" enough. it is a great combo of "inversion" and air time. its perfect the way it is!

If it ever did go 360, you would still get the same airtime as it would take the same swings to finally get enough to go all the way around. So todays ride + 5 extra swings in total to clear.

Whether the ride could be modified to handle it or not, they're not going to change it if people are still riding it. Why bother?

If they were ever going to do some upgrade to a ride, I would wish for Iron dragon. I've only been on 3 arrow suspended coasters, and I find Iron Dragons to be the most boring.

The motors can't handle it... (hint: Deliriums breakdown last year)

No it shouldnt go upside down but skyhawk should. About maxiar e-spoting were talking about if they made one that did go upside down. *** Edited 7/15/2006 11:40:15 PM UTC by CPFan07***

maXair is in fact capable of going all the way over. HUSS made a couple of visits during the season and I got to chat with one of the guys and we talked about this very subject. The reason they don't make them go 360 is because they feel that it would be too intense and people would not ride it. They can change the program to do whatever they want.
In the beginning of last season, they would play around with different programs and some cycles would be shorter, while others ran slightly longer and had more Swing-Constant swings.
The only reason it would E-Stop last year if it swung to high was becaused it was programmed to do so, however, like I said, the program can be changed and it can do pretty much whatever.

that really sounds fun. Last time i rode it i felt like it was going to flip, it kept going higher than usual and for more swings than usual...it was the best maxair ride ive ever had.

Skyhawk couldn't go upside down because of the top on it, but if they could find a way to so without that, it could be cool. However, it's good the way it is

if skyhawk did hit that top piece, would the swing arm break off or would it break the top off?

I'm Not Quite sure, i don't know how strong the steel is up there. I'm guessing it will hit the top and fall back and probably mess up the arm. Or the Second choice would be that it would e-stop it when it got too high.
