I would like to see it but the CP website is down.

maXair- 4 Spins
Dragster- 36 and ONE ROLLBACK

i think the animation was good but it would have been much better if there had been a first person pov of the ride. ive never been on a huss giant frisbee and im really anxious to get on maxair.

CPking, there is a first person movie on the HUSS website.

I really hate being stuck with 56k and not being able to save the file.

I hear ya...

Top Thrill Dragster....Always number one

???
I was able to save the animation by just clicking on the arrow in the lower right-hand corner of the QuickTime plug-in window. It's 10 Mb, and it's a "fast start" movie so you get the performance advantages of streaming without the performance disadvantages.

Maybe that's just because I have QuickTime Pro. If you don't, then copy the JavaScript link, hack out the URL, and then just download that URL. It's a simple operation, and everyone should have a template page handy for right-clicking random web links anyway. :)

RideMan,

You have to remember that most of us are mere mortals when it comes to this IT stuff and you are a professional.

It's better if they just whine about it and not actually try that stuff, because they will inevitably screw up their computers.

Just wondering if anyone knows what ever happened to Keith. The last update on his CB site was in January of 2004. I'm sure he's just moved on to bigger and better things, but I really enjoyed updates from him, and man, there sure are some new rides now that I'd love to see him animate. *** Edited 4/9/2005 3:26:02 PM UTC by Jeff Young***

Well, as always, Badnitrus has made another amazing animation. The only downside is that it is sort-of deceiving in showing ride length. From riding Delerium, I know you only get 3 full swings, and a few to build up to full swing and few to slow down from full swing. I think my mom and I timed it once, and the time that you are moving only comes out to be like 1 min. 5 seconds.

The ride may be short, but as it goes, it is sweet. The power of this ride is amazing. I love Delerium, and obviously, this will be the same. It is by far my favorite flat ride.

I sure dont see any animation, just a drawing.

Scroll down the page Allan, it is under the Gallery heading. The section is named animation.

Here, this couldn't be much easier. Copy the following code and save it somewhere on your computer with a name like, "rightclick.html":

<html>
<body>
<-- Replace the ~ with the URL of any file you want to download -->
<a href="~">Click Me</a>
</body>
</html>

Then when you get a link that you can't right-click because it is a Javascript directive, open the rightclick.html file in a text editor and replace the "~" with the URL. Save the file and open it in your browser, right click on the "Click Me" and save the target wherever you want it.

In the case of the maXair animation, the link you get if you "copy link to clipboard" looks something like (but isn't quite):

javascript:openWindow("http://someipaddr/path/file.mov",320,256)

Well, there is something in there that looks a lot like a URL. Just copy out that part, throw the rest away, load the URL into the rightclick.html template, and right-click at will.

Keith McVeen has still been doing animations, but he and his team have been getting paid for it through his animation company.

It's a good thing too because he has a gift.

Too much work, Dave. It's much easier to use wget (on a UNIX system or to download the Windows version)

wget is your friend. :)

No animation, but the real thing.

Right now on the fun-cam you can see they are running full-swing testing! :):):)

WT is also running.

The animation was nice, but nothing like his past work. Hydra, Kingda Ka, Silver Bullet, and Top Thrill Dragster had amazing animations that he went all out for. Guess CP wanted a quick and simple presentation of the ride and that's it.

Hmmmmm. I tried downloading the Quicktime animation of maXair off CP's website and a window came up saying I needed a few additional components added to my Quicktime software in order to play it. So, I downloaded what they said I needed. And what did I get for my trouble? Not only did I still NOT get the maXair animation, but now 2 of my previously saved quicktime movies will NOT play anymore. The "Ready To Go" video of TTD I had no longer has picture or sound, and a window comes up that tells me that the software I need to play it is not available on the quicktime website. And my Metallica video of TTD has no sound now. At least all of my other videos are still intact. The lesson here for us computer illiterates? Leave well enough alone. I learned my lesson. Anyone else have this problem?

That's an odd one.

I'm pretty sure the maXair animation doesn't use anything that isn't in QT-4. But if you aren't using QuickTime 6.5, you should be. Try upgrading and see if that doesn't solve all of your QT-related problems. After all, the QT player is $free...

Who points out that QT-5 was a little buggy, especially on Windows...
