maXair alternative location

Ok I would have placed it in the spot of the scrambler and moved the scrambler between the Raptor and Blue Streak.

You can't just move scrambler, it has been there since it was built.

And pirate ride is not just an empty building. Park opertions uses it and that is where park services is located. Tearing it down would cause problems in relocating everything.

You wouldn't have to tear it down completely. You could use the space in front of it, and take down the Pirate ride overhang (Or keep it up for the que). I'm not saying it would be better there, but it could probably work there.

The Pirate Ride was an indoor dark ride (I guess if it is a dark ride it must be indoors so that is redundant) located near the Blue Streak.

It was your typical, kitschy dark ride with cars that ran along an electrified track. Black light and flourescent paint provided the look of the ride with "animated" (I used that term loosely) characters popping up and surprising your around each turn.

It certainly wouldn't be confused with Disney's Haunted Mansion but it did have some meaning to many who viewed its closure as a loss. The building now consists largely of storage for the Park Services department (ie toilet paper, paper towels, etc).

I think Cedar Point sorely lacks a dark ride but I don't think the Pirate Ride itself was something to miss.

A lot of us have good memories of The Pirate Ride as a child but the ride itself was pretty sad compared to other dark rides even for it's time. I understand it was difficult to maintain mechanically because the ride (it's parts) were so outdated.
Same situation with The San Francisco Earthquake Ride which went much earlier than The Pirate Ride did... I hardly even remember it.
