I don't think Walt will tolerate me speaking freely for long.

In the today in the park section it says that all rides are open today. Can anyone confirm if maXair is running today? Im really confused.

I doubt anybody is going to go back to their hotel room and get on Pointbuzz just to say if MaXair is open or not. They are going to spend the day at the park. We have had enough computer over the offseason and now its time to ride. ;) We will know later tonight.

Let's Get Weird.

i know that. I just put it out there for anyone to answer.

I was just looking at the web cams and it does not look like much is happening with MaXair. Nothing is happening on the funcam at Funcoast.com so I am guessing that MaXair is in fact closed.. :(

Yes, Maxair is closed. I saw a couple guys working on it today at about 3.

Looks to me that the whole motor has been removed, might be down for a while.

that is true.

^^^ Maverick had a good amount of downtime, It also looked like Wicked Twister was down for a while mid day. I counted 2 Dragster Rollbacks in the morning. I also saw the person working on MaXair it looks like it'll be a while till it's back up and running.

How is it possible that a ride can be down for that long? They could put in a whole new ride quicker than that.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

it would probably be faster and easyer to scrap maxair and build the same ride over and call MAXAIR 2

Maxair, among several other rides in the park, was down today. :-(

Now I'm no engineer or physisist, but I've often wondered why the Giant Frisbee was designed without a balancing counter weight at the top. It seems like it would be a sensible way to reduce stress on the motor and potentially use less energy. I have noticed of the two that are in Ohio, neither one swings quite as high as it did during the first season of operation. MaXair is the better of the two as far as that goes. Maybe this season's fix (with a long-awaited new part ) will bring an improvement to an already great ride.

Has anyone besides me had the mistaken impression that the ride at CP is bigger than the one at KI? I know it's not- but maybe the location and proximity to other structures make it seem so.

I will be at CP all week starting tomorrow. Hopefully it will operate for me this week. I glanced at the webcam, and it looked like Space Spiral was down too.

I'm the oldest one here. CP emp '73-'74

Space Spiral was running today. Maverick had some troubles but did run for a good part of the day I believe.
