Does anyone know if they took this sign down?
Yes, it has been removed. I'm not saying going back down perimeter road is the greatest idea since a lot of it is just one lane, but the sign has indeed been taken down.

It's safe to assume the rule still applies.
Actually, I was there yesterday and talking to an employee while watching it test. So the not posted rule does not apply.
Just out of curiosity, how are you watching it test and talking to someone?
Unless they're in the same vehicle as you of course.

Well, that sign was not there on the 29th and i've never seen a rule anywhere else stating one is not permitted to drive along the road, so they must not want you back there only when they are doing some sort of work where your vehicle might get in the way. So I ASSUME they dont see it as a big deal. Plus they were doing food service orientation and a sign pointing to drive "this way" down the road to get to the orientation.

This time of year, there are a lot of people who have a lot of valid reasons to drive around. "No one stopped me," "someone else did it," or "there was no sign" aren't valid reasons. And since there is so much traffic, it's easy for people who don't belong to blend in, giving the impression that the tip of the peninsula is open for sightseeing.
There was no sign posted in February. Would you have assumed it was OK to drive around then as well? We have this same conversation every year, but common sense should kick in anyway. The park is closed. It's still the off-season.
Then Cedar Point should make that clear, instead of making the assumption that people have the common sense and know the rules not to go back there.
Owner, Gould Photography.
Well, they had a sign, but it was apparently removed as they continue to prepare for opening. You're saying the park shouldn't assume people have common sense, but it's OK for people to assume the absence of an explicit warning is necessarily the same as permission?
There is a reasonable assumption made as to when someone's common sense should kick in. There's no sign that says, "stay off boardwalk." Does anyone think it's OK to take an off-season stroll in front of the Breakers? There are various gates open this time of year as they get ready for opening. "Well, officer, there was no sign that said I couldn't walk on the midway."
You mean I'm not allowed to knock on Mr. Kinzel's office window to say hi?... There was no sign there that said "Do Not Knock"
You are no fun Walt... ;)

And following this logic, I hope they've put up no smoking signs every 5 feet. Otherwise there is no sign stating that I can't smoke there.

Loopy. I got out of my car.
Some guy wearing shorts talking to a person in uniform with a nametag does not blend in. There goes that logic.

Its a private drive, not a public road. CP doesn't actually have to post ANY sign saying "Do not enter".
The sign is up for the winter because, contrary to Walt's hope for the human race, not everyone possesses common sense. It has apparently already been pulled down in preparation for the start of the season. That doesn't make the road any more public, or mean that the park has granted people permission to drive around.

Instead of arguing about whether you can or cannot drive on that road, why doesn't somebody explain how the ride looked as it was testing? That is what this thread is for. Start a new thread if you want to discuss driving on a private road. I think some of you guys just like to argue!
Does the ride creep through the horseshoe like someone else said?
No, it more rolls. It'll only creep during Halloweekends when it can blend in with the rest of the spooks.
And welcome to the internet. If you want all threads to stay specifically on topic and never deviate, you can go ahead and start your own www.boringbuzz.com and moderate it yourself.

That's what I figured. So I guess the sign that says something to the effect of, " No stopping or standing", that one was removed too?
As Walt has already stated, common sense should prevail, unfortunately some people's common sense went missing. Maybe we should see if we could get the side of milk cartons reserved for occasions like this.

What exactly is a pitty conversation? I don't even think that's a word, I'd definitely challenge that if we were playing Scrabble.
