It's not that special just cool to say that you had one.
Like having the last train of the night on both MF and TTD on the same night. Top that. ;)

I also saw that. The funny part was that the phone was open...
That reminds me of that cell phone commercial where the dog eats the owner's phone. At the vet, you can hear the hold music inside the dog and it has something to do with using up minutes. They were funny at the time. LOL!!
^I remember that commercial. I vaguely remember something with a rubber glove and a line in the script for the pet owner at the end that made the commercial so funny.
Yes It is possible when a sudden headwind hits. I rolled back once on the hill because of a sudden wind, and it slowed, came to the bottom and re-launched. Unlike Top Thrill Dragster, Maverick doesn't go down for rollbacks.

I also saw that on June 27th and 28th when I went, that was funny.
I have to say, Cedar Point does a really nice job with searching for lost items, even though they have to wait for the park to close. My dad's digital camera came out of his pocket on Magnum and hit a support (luckily no people). The employees in...wherever it was that we went were very courteous and since his camera was not in the box of ones they had found, they searched for it two times.
Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

CP does a really good job controlling riders. I've been on MF once when someone unbuckled their seatbelt on the lift, and the ride instantly shut down. This happened again while I was in line for it during my last visit. What prompts these people to do such stupid things?Oh I know... you're a REAL tough guy if you ride a roller coaster without your seat belt. Silly me.
So MF does have the ability to detect someone who unclicks their black seatbelt? My friend said something like that happened to him on the Mantis as well. Is that true in both cases?

Both rides do, actually. They are call ride hosts and they have vision that can see unbuckled seatbelts.
Launch tunnel rollbacks are quite a unique experience. I'm too lazy to read if someone has posted it.. but I was one of the first, being it happened on Opening Day.
The launched seemed very weak (it was our 3rd ride) and we went out the tunnel a bit.. then back down... I think.
Either way, like a few others.. we just rolled back slowly back to the launch position. The mist was on then, and boy was it thick. They turned it off on our ride and it hasn't been back in full force since.
I feel all special.. in a noob kinda way.. haha

After reading through some of these posts and hearing about all the confiscated cameras, too many times they're NOT confiscated, and probaby WAY more are not than are...
Have yet to get that rollback we want so badly on Dragster but managed to get a rollback on Maverick in the tunnel with my son many weeks ago shortly after the ride was opened to the public.
It really wasn't that big a deal as was mentioned already. We were zipping through the tunnel and almost out of it and it just came to a stop and took FOREVER to roll back down the track to the point they could shoot her out of the tunnel many minutes later.
It was more fun because of the guys on the train with us. They were the typical loud obnoxious type who make complete fools out of themselves.
They sent a gal down to tell us what was going on and to basically babysit. She asked if we had our seatbelts on and in typical loudmouth fashion the guy asked her what difference it makes we are sitting still. They were demanding beer and hot dogs. A girl asked if we would get another ride and the gal asked her why she felt they deserved another ride just because they got stuck in a tunnel.
Something she said didn't make any sense to me. The guys asked her if she was going to launch us and she said she had to push a button to launch us when they told her to? I thought they would launch you from the main control panel up on the platform?
My son thinks it was a big deal and was so happy he got it but I would still prefer to get one on Dragster. As many times as I have been on it you would think I would have gotten lucky by now. Anyone know if it hurts the back of your head on those seatbacks when you come down that tower backwards like that? I was thinking it might be a bit bumpy?

I really think they would crash cuz..... IF the power failed while the train was on the LSM strip, the train would keep going, but most likely not have enough power to get over the hill, and come back. Theres trains (sooo awesome) so they run so closely together. Lets think, the opperator dispatches the train when the train before it enters the tunnel, and then its only about 30-45 seconds before it hits the tunnel. And if the powers gone the brakes woulnd't work so when the train comes flying back in the tunnel, at the same time the second one dones, well the damages would be bad. but im sure CP thought about it soo they made some generators.

Sorry to bring back an old topic.
First, both the lift and launch have their own control panel (as do all the different block sections). One button to reposition the train and another to relaunch it. Rollbacks on the lift happen when the trains are running slow and it reaches the top of the lift before the previous train launches or a ride host catches a loose article or seatbelt being undone and has to stop the ride. Tunnel rollbacks are more rare. As for them crashing, there are two blocks down there. Two trains are allowed to be in the tunnel at the same time, it's just not likely.
TTD rollbacks aren't all that great. It's just exciting, because it's something different from the normal ride. When it happens you don't expect it and it's over before you know it. It feels no different than WT going backwards down the front spike and slowing down into the brakes.
