Yeah, Maverick finally seemed to be running well on 7/9. No seats were closed, and I experienced no mechanical downtime -- it was even one of the few rides that continued to run through some misty weather. Hopefully it stays this way.
The soft straps continue to grow on me. I love the new defense-free ride they allow. I was one that never had a problem with Maverick's old restraints, but not having to brace makes me appreciate the ride on a whole new level. It's just intense fun that's unlike any other coaster I've ridden.
Unfortunately the broken seats were back yesterday. And due to that, that was about the only ride I waited a significant amount of time for and line moved slower than normal. There weren't really too many Fast Lane users yesterday, so I don't think that contributed to the problem. And someone puked when I was in the station and they cycled that train empty for 2 runs to dry it.

I rode Maverick for the first time this season today and I have to say, that ride is going farther and farther down my list. I don't know what it is but I just don't find it to be comfortable. The softer restraints are nice but they still staple your legs and I also find the seats themselves more uncomfortable than other rides. I've never bothered to take a look at them. Maybe I was just sick of waiting for the ride because it breaks down so often.
Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!
The current problem with the restraints is that they land in the center to upper thigh, instead of closer to the waist/lower stomach area like just about every other ride. It is extremely uncomfortable when the bar cuts off all circulation to the lower legs, but at least there is no head banging to go with it.
