Maverick Restraints?

I'm a bit curious as to what to expect from the restraints on Maverick. I'm not what you would consider a small person. I fit (snugly) into Raptor and Wicked Twister, and as of the end of last season I wasn't able to ride MF or TTD after they cracked down on having to be able to fasten the belt yourself. I know Maverick has OTSRs, since it's Intamin should I be expecting something similar to what's on Twister? I know everyone fits into the restraints differently and such, I'm just looking for a bit of guidance and whether I need to go on a crash diet for the next two and a half months in order to be able to ride Maverick on opening weekend.

Thanks in advance!

A "crash" diet is neither good for your health nor typically allows for long term weight loss. The best approch is to lower your caloric intake that reaches about 1-2 lbs per week weight loss. Any more and your body will go into caloric shock.

How accommodating the new Intamin trains will be has yet to be seen. My guess is that if you are larger and not taller, it will be somewhat more accommodating than Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster with by some. For height, it looks to be about the same as Raptor and Wicked Twister roughly.

I rode Storm Runner which has the same restraints as Maverick and there was some large sized people getting on. So if Maverick is anything like SR, then you should have no problem. Though it wouldnt hurt to go on a diet for the last 2 months. You probably wont need to but still, it wouldnt hurt. And if not for Maverick, then for Dragster and Millennium.
::Edit:: Ditto to what JTC says about "crash diet". A normal diet isn't bad though. A 2 month diet of better eating and exercise can do wonders.

And most importantly, for yourself.

I know, I was joking about the crash diet thing. I'm working on losing weight gradually regardless. My goal for myself is to be able to ride MF and TTD by the end of this season, hopefully I'm being realistic. Thanks for the info.

When youre at the point to where you will sucessfully get on Millennium and Dragster is all up to you. Could be by opening day, the next moth, end of the month.....it just depends. IMO I think you can do it by May if you put you mind to it.

Just lay off the chips (or whatever snacks) and start munching good stuff like carrots. One minor switch i made was drinking diet cola instead of regular. It's a small thing, but it helps.

Or give up soda - I hear water is much cheaper.

Exercise, the cure to all your problems.

There are ways to get energy without pop or coffee.

Okay, so I enjoy a pop now and then. I have maybe one a day with my lunch and that's it. As long as it's in moderation (like downing a case a day of Mtn Dew or the like), it's okay.

Here's a fantastic picture of the Maverick Restraints in action![url][url]

They look fairly roomy to me. But I guess if you have a huge crotch, that seatbelt is going to be an issue yet again...

Ride on, MrScott!

Please no headbanging.... please no headbanging.... please no headbanging..... Looks like us short ones might need some extra padding!

From other riders' first hand accounts of SR, it doesn't seem that will be much of a problem, KidsRRT.

Funny thing that I noticed at the store the other day.

A small bottle of soda, was cheaper than a small bottle of spring water. Kind of funny if you think about it.

The restraints on maverick look painfull to me because I am 6'3 tall.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

The restraints are there to keep you in the train. The other option is much worse.
