Maverick in the Golden Tickets?

Go to www.mysterymine.com. It has an animation with little clips of POV, but not the whole thing.

I think Mystery Mine looks like a great coaster.
I'm sure if it was just out in the open it would be that special, but the theming is what makes that ride, and I think it will do pretty well.
And I also think Maverick could be very well in the running for best new ride of the year. It seems to be quite popular, and really exceeding peoples' expectations.

When do they announce the winners of this year's Golden Ticket Awards?

I believe its early-mid August, maybe a bit later.

I just checked amusmenttoday.com and it says they are comming September 5th.

The only new roller coaster for 2007 i have been on is Maverivk, but Mystery Mine looks really cool! Especially if you rode it at night! that would be awsome! Renegade looks better then Mean Streak, Gemini and Blue Streak. And Griffon i would love to ride, but i would have to say Maverick is going to do fairly well in the standings!!

Can anybody that has ridden both Mystery Mine and Maverick say that MM is better?

Well, I'm goin to Busch Gardens Europe sometime in late August before school starts. Griffon looks awesome, but it won't be as good as Maverick. I don't think anything will come as close to Maverick for me

I can't say that Mystery Mine is a better coaster. To me it's more of a themed dark ride/coaster. As a coaster alone, it's not all that great, but with all the theming/story, it's awesome!

I have ridden Maverick and Griffon, and I feel Maverick is a much better ride. I'll be riding Mystery Mine in November. A good portion of the voters will maybe have ridden one of the new rides before making their vote. So The "Best New Coaster" I would guess goes to the new ride that has seen the most voters.

Has the voting occurred yet? Who votes? I'm not very clear on how the whole thing works.

I haven't ridden any of the new coasters, but with the reviews Maverick's getting, I should think it has a good chance of getting the new best ride. But Sheikra was just insane, and if Griffon's overall experiance is similar, it's definately got a good chance aswell. Too bad I won't have a chance to ride any of the new for 07 coasters before the winners are announced.

Yeah, I've ridden Maverick and SheiKra, and they were both great but Maverick was better.

That was my thoughts. There were just some spots where it moved to slow, and or you are sitting and waiting (at the lifts). but they did a good job of filling those with theming elements. I'd love to go back and ride it again, but the planners at Dollywood got their design degrees from BrainDead University. Having several thousand people exit through 6 gift shop doors at the end of the day is just a bad idea.
