Other than a couple gripes about the restraints, I have to say that Maverick has been received very well by just about everyone. From start to finish the ride delivers an intense, all-around fun ride.

It's a great ride, just wish the lines wern't so God awful long.

You'll have that anytime they build a new coaster. Give it
a little time, they won't be quite as long. When TTD first
opened, I waited 3 hours 45 min. Now you can get on fairly
quickly depending on when you're there. Back on subject, I
agree, Maverick is a great ride. Comes in at no 3 for me,
behind MF and Raptor.

Actually for it being a new ride, the thing only averaged about an hour 45 min most days I was there (ie full queue.) The thing they really need to fix is somehow preventing "loose articles" e-stops or installing a way to stop trains from launching without an e-stop, or quickening the restart time from about 30-45 min (doubt this is possible.)

I like it. Sure the wait times sucked and the restraints are kind of weird, but it's a decent rollercoaster. I think it shows like what another roller coaster will be like in the future with the magnetic lift thingys and the brakes :)

haha. sorry I don't know what most of the stuff is called, but they are cool features.

So stoked for 2010 :]

^^I'm not sure exactly what you mean. The when a loose article is caught, the ride stopped. The reason it takes so long is that all the trains move at once and when they're stopped they all must be moved back into place. I never saw it take 30-45 minutes.

^^LSMs are the magnetic things that launch the coaster and magnetic brakes (breaks?) are what stops it.

All that I know is that I have been in line 3-4 times when some idiot pulls out a camera phone or a hat from his pocket (or in the case of a hat, his back) and they then e-stop the ride. Restarting from those events took between 30-45 min (for some reason, they had to cycle again so they had to reboot, finish the ride for those on the ride, and then recycle twice with empty cars then they reopened.) I seriously was never in Maverick's line last year without the ride "breaking down," being e-stopped or opening too late. Here hoping for a smoother 2008 season.

And hopefully they get the wheel situation taken care of. Last year if you rode in the back row there was very weird vibrations. Still a very fun ride.

I loved Maverick from the minute it was announced to the first time I rode it. I waited what it took to ride Maverick even when it was down for a while. The people I was with were all for waiting with me in line as well. I'm looking forward to riding Maverick in 2008.

Count me as a fan, but you can also count me as someone who hopes to see a non-Intamin, more traditional coaster in the future. Does anybody remember the clank, clank, clank going up the hill? We haven't had a chain lift coaster since 96.

**Disclaimer** If we get an Intamin woodie, I'll be content, as unlikely as it is.

Yes I too miss the old chain lifts. Magnums is the best lift hill anywhere.

I can't tell you how many times I've heard people say that they enjoy Millennium Force and Maverick because they don't feature the slow accent up the first hill.

The vertical chain lift found on Fahrenheit at Hersheypark is an interesting concept. I wouldn't be surprised to see that come to CP in the future.

I suppose I could settle with a Millennium-style lift. Just lay off the magnets and hydraulics for a bit.

I much prefer the speedier, quieter lifts myself. I suppose that has a lot to do with the novelty factor, though.

I like that old nostalgic sound of the train going up the hill.

For me a clunky sound is out of place on a steely...
