Married Housing

Does anyone know what the married housing is like, where it is at, and how much it costs? Also, my fiance and I worked at CP this past season and we would like to work there again, but we are getting married on June 9, 2001, and we don't think that there would be any housing for married couples by that date. We were wondering what the odds would be if we could have the priest that is going to marry us, give CP some kind of letter explaining that we were going to be married and if it would be possible to move into married housing at the very beginning of the 2001 season. Can couples reserve married housing even if they are not going to start working until June 9th? I would appreciate any help on the subject. I already tried to call the CP job hotline, but it said to call back in December because that is when they will start hiring for the 2001 season. Thank you for your help!

Well Chris from my experience the Married Housing is available in the front of Cedars. They do not let you reserve housing nor will they allow a not from anyone to get you into married housing if you are not married yet (at the time of processing in)..... And generally if they do not have the housing they would make a spot for you somewhere else and all..... i.e. if they are out of married housing which they shouldn't be... they would make room either in the A Frames etc.... Chris send mea an email and I will tell you how you can get incontact with someone at CP to ask for sure. marcusd@marcusd.com

They DO have married housing? I didn't know. This is great, because my husband and I love CP, and it would be great to work there again and not worry about the dorms. What about, though, if only one of you (ie, me, and not my husband) is going to work there? Would I still have to stay in the regular dorms? Do we have to process in together?

I had a couple married women on my crew this season and they lived with their husbands in Bayside. Apparently, there are a few one bedroom apartments in Bayside that they give to married CP seasonals (I don't know all the details, though).
If only one is going to work there you would have to live in regular housing.....and follow the regular visitation policy set up for non seasonal employees!

Married housing is in Bayside.. the apartments in the front of Cedars are the executive apartments. You would need to contact housing regarding married housing, but you would not be able to move into married housing until you are actually married. The apartments are no different than the other bayside apartments, but they only have the one bedroom. Those rooms are set aside for married housing, but if there are not enough couples to use them they have occasionally been used as supervisor housing.
