Mantis Ride Crew

I am a ride host for the mantis and I got hired a couple weeks ago, so I'm so excited to process in but I'm not sure what to expect :) is mantis fun?? :)

I worked Mantis in 2010, and I loved it. One of my all-time favorite rides to work. It does get extremely frustrating at times, because people for some reason do not want to stand up.

Hahahaha I so was that person the first time I rode it. An my down under area like hurt so bad and my legs exploded lol! I've heard everyone say it was the funniest?! Like what makes it better than any other!! And do you remember the jist of the Spiel? I feel like that will be my favorite! :))

All ride spiels are pretty generic. Welcome to _______. "Place all of your loose articles in bin _____. Cedar Point can not and will not be held responsible for lost or damaged items while riding. Once you've returned to your seat pull down your harness and fasten your seat belt." Mantis's spiel you have to say "Stand up" several times. You also have to announce when seats are locking. Most rides will incorporate the ride stats too. "This ride is gonna take you up this many feet and drop over a ___ degree angle, going upside down this many times"

Please remove all loose articles and hand them to one person in your party so they can cross through the train and place it into the open bin on the exit side of the platform. Once back on board, please stand up straight with both feet flat on the floor and behind the black line. Do not sit, do not slouch and do not bounce. Your seats will be locking in 3, 2, 1. Your seats are now locked. If you are sitting down or you can't reach the ground let a ride host know and they will be able to adjust your seat for you. Mantis will take you up 145ft, drop you 137 at a 45 degree angle, flip you upside down four times in four different ways reaching top speeds of 63 miles per hour. Stand up right, hold on tight and enjoy your ride on the big, bad bug, Mantis!"

And I liked it because you're constantly busy. It's not extremely fast paced like Raptor and Magnum, but you have to make sure each and every guest is standing as well as buckled in. Plus controls are the best.
