Maintenance...

Can you get a job with maintenance just like getting a job as a ride op or sweep if you are going to college in that field? Or do they usually have experienced people working there year round?

I'm going to be going to college to try to get a Mechanical Engineering degree, and I think that the hands on experience would be useful.

There are seasonal jobs in the Maintenance department. It's a little different from working other jobs in the park. They are union positions (with union dues) - no summer bonus, but the starting wages are a bit higher and you get paid overtime.

I would imagine having some experience would be helpful in getting a job. For example if you took vocational work in high school in Auto Repair or electric work.

I wonder if my bike building and repair experience would be enough. Bikes and Coasters both need chains fixed, brakes adjusted, wheels replaced, etc .;)
