Now I'm against any changes done to Magnum, but I do believe that some order is needed in the station.

I wouldn't be surprised if some kind of rennovation too place similar to what Dave described. I seriously doubt there will be a complete rebuild though.
Last year Monty Jasper came up to our platform. It's very rare for him to come to rides that are in perfect working condition, and that was the only time I saw him at the ride last year. Anyway, he came up with another guy and they were tooking around, pointing at things, commenting about how poorly designed it is for moving people, etc.
I think that if they make the "front" side of the station similar to the "back" side that it would help with the bottlenecking of the front car's queues. If they had the front angled like the back, then people wouldn't block the 2nd and 3rd rows of the car because of them failing to line up against the 90 degree turns that are currently in place.
With this said, I don't want them to rennovate it because I like not waiting for the ejector seat. :)

Yeah I don't see them putting the money into changing a classic to "match" another park of theirs. Plus the uproar would be deffaning.
"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"
I've only been on the Magnum once this year, but I have ridden in for the past 9 years. My experience on the station was fine, but this last time they didn't prevent people from going into the station. I'm not sure why there wasn't a person there, if it just that particular day, but it would help if it were less overcrowded.
Somehow, I ended up in a line that wasn't leading to any particular car, it was just between two rails, but the people in line for magnum were gracious enough to take turns. But since the introduction of Millenium Force, the queu space hasn't really been put to great use. Except for days like July 4th of 2004 when the park was congested from parking lot to Frontier Town. Maybe they are going to add some theming, lol, but it is fine just the way it is. As long as there is crowd control.
Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!
All I can say, is DO SOMETHING. I as at the park alst weekend for three days, and the Magnum station was one of only THREE things I iwshed CP would change or do better.
That being said, I would take a poorly designed station over single-train operation ANYDAY. So, maybe I am being spoiled. :)
The best idea that ive heard was to only let enough people in to fill a couple cars. One of the things I dont like about only letting enough people in the station to fill one car is that if the person at the spinning thing-a-ma-jigger-bob is in a bad mood and makes you take an empty seat that you dont want. Ive had that happen to me on Wicked Twister and Millenium. Also I think they should do something about Magnums lap-bars, not change them, but make it so that they stay up without having to hold them up!
(P.S. Also I dont like sitting in the fron of the Magnum, Its boring,)
Was there anyone at the park yesterday (8-20) that happen to see that near riot break out in Magnum's station? (Ride Operators on here better back me up on this one!)
For those of you who weren't there to see this, there was a guy who came into the station being a straight up jerk and was down right screaming and yelling non-sence crap for the whole station to hear. After a few people ask him to stop/shut up, he continued on and only became louder and louder. After awhile, the whole station became really quite, which was filled to the brim with people. As the guy kept on yelling and screaming, you could feel tension building in the station.
So, as I got a little closer to getting on, the dude next to me decided to take his water bottle and chuck at this guy who was about 5 rows over from him, as the guy was still yelling and screaming. Some how, the bottle didn't hit anyone who was in the cross fire, but it DRILLED the guy right in the face (which was one of the funniest things I've ever seen). So the guy then turns around, looking all pissed off, and decideds to *try* to jump over his rail, but because there were so many people, he was unable to reach the dude next to me.
Sooooo....after about 3 trains, the guy, and the dude, as well as me, we're all next to *get on the ride*. As soon as the air gates opened everyone but the guy headed for their seats, but the guy was still to pissed off to let it go. So he decideds it would be a wise idea to try to kick the dudes ass. The guy starts yelling and screaming again, well, only at the dude, and he then trys to charge him. But before he could get a running start, a ride operation and a few by standers grabbed him. Somehow they managed to get the guy over to the exit ramp, and called security. The dude on the other hand, was able to ride in the seat infront of me.
After the ride, we were stopped (really hard, btw) in the brakes just outside of the last tunnle. I looked over and there were tons of security people over at the station, escorting the guy out. So when we pulled up to the station and got out, a few security guys were still around and then got the dude for throwing the water bottle.
All in all some funny stuff, in a way. But man, something needs to be done right away, or something like this is going to happen again (which it will, only with time) but much worse.
WE NEED STATION CONTROL!!!
My guess is the guy was drunk. I watched a similar instance over by the MF photo booth in July, and the guy was obviously drunk. Magnum definately needs a crowd control person though.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
That's what I am thinking too.
I hate people who start being jacka$$es. Back in June, me, my sister and her boyfriend were waiting in line for Dragster at night. It slowly started to rain and a train that was in launch position was rolled back into the station. As people slowly started to leave the line/the station, there was this 20 year old who was African American (with friends), not even 10 feet in front of me, who started to be a jacka$$ to the people who were leaving, joking, being loud and obnoxious.
Finally after 5 minutes, a man (with his younger daughter) turned to the kid and said "You know why don’t you stop and mind your own damn business." Then out of nowhere, the boy (who was taller than the man) got up in the guy's face and started to curse him out. Everybody started to back off as if to be ready for a fight. But the man didn’t want to fight and just said "Look man, all I said was to stop." even though the boy didn't listen.
So I decided to try and call out to the station before something happened (which is funny because I was like "Hey you, get a ride op we have a problem!" and someone said "What! Are you going to start the ride!?"). Well, luckily enough, a ride op came down from the station and broke up the 2 very calmly before they had the chance to fight. Then no later than 3 minutes, the CP police came and set everything straight.
An officer later talked to the boy and the guy asking their own side of the story. The boy gave a completely different story to make himself sound innocent. As the officer was asking the older man, me, my sis, and her BF, vouched for the man and just said "That boy had no reason to get up in the guys face."

My quesion is was the ride operators keeping an eye on this guy from minute one to report a wild guy in the station? That what I would've done was just call security immediately and maybe that would keep him quiet. Who knows the people telling him to shut up might of got to the point themselves where they wanted to kick this guys butt. And I mean Literally!! But yeah they need to have a better set up with the station. Not only let a certain amount of people in Like Wicked Twister and Millennium Force, but also maybe rebuild part of the station where you don't have to walk up stairs. Maybe Make Magnum the first ride ever to use an elevator. I know that sounds korney but hey it's an idea.
I really was paying attention to the ride operators, mainly because I couldn't see them yet due to so many people ahead of me.
Yeah, a bit corny, but with the lines it has now it might work except on Saturdays and during August. Or maybe they could replace the stairs with an escalator that the person on crowd control (crowd control alone is a big dream, lol) would control. Maybe in my dreams, and hopefully it'll be tonight.

Heres another idea I have. Maybe make a ramp like how Millennium Force is set up and have a plattform that you walk on for a few minutes. That way when y ou get to the station, its skinny and narrow like Millennium Force. This way they can pull a certain amount of people in the station at once. What I'm saying is make the station shorter and create a ramp.
The station is fine if they have a ride op at the top who is doing their job. Years ago they would only let two to three train loads of people into that station. The ride op at the top would then stop the line let a train or two go then let more in. I dont ever recall a time when they had an empty row. Some people will always go to the seat with the shortest line. This year has been the worst as they seem to be playing lets see how many we can cram in the station.
Me and my friend are very small. About 5'1" 100 lbs. Whenever we go to CP and go on Magnum we always just stand somewhere closer to the front. Then gradually if people aren't paying attention we gradually go in front of them. They don't really notice us because we are much shorter than them.
And by the way I still say Magnum should do the same as MF. But maybe a bit more people though.
Thats what I usually do. I usually wait for the front and then when the line gets lower, I"ll pick the second car. They really should do it like Wicked Twister and Millennium Force in which they only let one or two train loads into the station at a time. Don't load in 20 because you'll have an overcrowded station. I still like my idea in making the station smaller like Wicked Twisters size and create a ramp like Millennium Force has. This way your whole crowd is on the ramp and not in the station. And that way when you get to the end there is someone to stop you, and then he/she can let that 1 or 2 train loads in the station at a time. I'd also like to hear some good theming music for Magnum. Maybe put in some techno like Millennium Force does.
