I think AirtimeWhore205 (Dan, of course ;)) will pick New England's Superman as his favorite. I know I probably would and I haven't even been on it yet! Then again, I like Apollo's Chariot over Magnum.
As far as the top signature ride at Cedar Point, there's no question that the general public will now consider it Millennium Force. I haven't been to the park much lately, but in the first half of the season, it wasn't uncommon for Magnum's last run to be ten minutes after closing; A far cry from the hour long queue drains of prior years.
I tend to agree with Tim... I think next year's number one in the AT poll will be The Force.

My guess would be SFNE's Superman too, but it seems a little too obvious due to his pimping of the ride before... Watch it be a ride he didn't even mention... :)

Jr Gemini all the way. =)
Jeff and Tim are right. I talked to Monty Jasper last Saturday morning, and he said that he was really surprised that MF got a high rating like it did, because he said it takes a couple years for everyone that votes to make it up to the Point. He also said that he sees MF being #1 next year and Magnum being a close second.

Well, I must say I like MF better than Magnum, but for some reason it doesn't have the mystique Magnum has always had. When Magnum first opened, it was so amazingly tall and new that it had this aura around it, and it still does. Seeing MF's hill when approaching the park is breathtaking, but it doesn't seem to have that mystery about it. Maybe it's because most of Magnum is hidden from view. But, all things considered, I'd have to say I like MF better...I've never come off a ride smiling wider than I did when I got off MF.

I've just never been able to see why so many think Magnum is a god. I, personally, thought it was good, but not great... not half as good as MF.

How dare you vanquish the Steel Phantom without his consent? Fear the Phantom's Revenge.
All I'm going to say to that is people are entitled to your opinion. BUT look at all of the great Arrow, B&M, Intamin and CCI coasters that have opened since 1989, which one is consistantly voted number 1?

Thanks for not going off and flaming or anything, Dan.
The one thing that bothers me about some people is that they say, "Nothing will ever replace Magnum as the best coaster" or whatever. That, to me, sounds like a football fan whose hometown team goes 0-16, but they continue to call their team "the best" and "#1".
Now, granted, Magnum actually is number one, but it certainly won't be forever... probably not even next year. (And as far as we know, with the way the coaster world is right now, maybe it won't even be #2 in '02... *cough*signature*cough*...)

yeah, maybe, but who's to say that Magnum WON'T be #1 until the end of time?? it really does have sopmething that MF doesn't right now..10 years of existence and familiarity. it is like your best friend who's always been there and you wouldn't trade for the world. Magnum is a very special ride and i almost feel guilty for ignoring it in favor of MF my last trips out...it just has something special that i can't quite put my finger on but all of the little things add up to one great big thing..an awesome ride. i STILL love MF to death, but Magnum will ALWAYS hold a plce in my heart as my first CP coaster.

ride early, ride often!!!
I have to say Magnum is overall a better ride than MF.
The first hill, and the first turn on MF is the best I have ever been on. After that it's just a fast ride back to the station. The overall layout of MF is a little on the weak side to me.
After Dan raved about Superman at SFNE I had to see for myself...#1 hands down. That's my honest opinion. As you all know, I don't kiss up to anyone. Here is my top five. Steel that is...
1. SROS SFNE
2.SROS SFDL
3.Mamba WoF (Kennywood..your going to love Morgan)
4.Desperado Buffalo Bills
5.Magnum CP
Six is MF. How can a 300 footer be ranked 6th? Once again, the overall ride from beginning to end is how I judge a coaster. Not just the first 35 seconds.
I'm sure MF will be ranked #1 next year. Mostly due to all the record breaking hype.
Maggie was my first really big coaster some six long years ago, so that is why its name will stay at #1 for ahwile. It has a almost a sentimental value to me, like that '56 Ford your grandfather might have. Sure it looks like junk next to today's Mustang's and what not, but it might have been your grandfather's first car, and nothing can replace it. Just a couple of weeks ago at CP on my last night there, I had just gotten off of MF at 10PM. I had 13 other coasters to pick from to take my last ride, but no, I picked Magnum...

Feel the Force NOW!!
The only coasters at CP that i havent rode are; Mantis,Raptor, and Corkscrew. But all the others i loved. Even though i loved MF, i have to say Magnum is still my #1 and probly will for a long time.
And for me, Magnum's rule will never end.

Why no Mantis, Raptor, and Corkscrew? Don't you have enough courage to ride coasters with inversions.
Acctually last year i wouldnt go on anything, but next year for sure ill hit those.

Toast, I can't believe you'd rank S:ROS (SFDL) ahead of MF. I think the DL version is good, but not even close to Magnum, and MF is a bigger, BETTER brother to S:ROS. Now, the SFNE one looks downright awesome, but the SFDL one is just drop, turn (like the ground turn on MF), hill, helix, bump helix, bump, end. Nothing exciting at all, and there is so much straight track. I do admit that last ejector hill before the station is awesome, but the rest of the layout isn't even close to MF's powerful turns and huge floating air. Of course, you're entitled to your opinion. BTW, MF is my new No. 1. I'd love to ride the SFNE Superman, but I don't think I'll get to this year...maybe next summer.

Jan, I Guess I find Drop hill, turn, hill, helix, bump helix, bump, end...Better than Drop, turn, hill, turn, turn, turn, turn, end.
*drool* SFNE Superman.
Um, oh yeah, Magnum or MF? Well...uhh, I like Magnum better. But MF's ride is completely different and I like it too. Whatever the case...mmmmmmmmmm SFNE's Superman is number 1.

While I have never been to a Six Flags park in my life, I would have to say MF is my number one. You can say anything you want to me, but I didn't like Magnum at all. I actually thought the Steel Phantom was better. You can say anything you want, but that is my opinion. Magnum isn't in my top 5, maybe not even top 10. I just didn't like it. MF will always be my favorite. That ride just means SO much to me that I will never be able to let it go. Sorry Magnum.
