...ugh...I hate Magnum's station when it fills up. Impossible to choose a row... I just always push to the front of the train... there are rarely people waiting for the ejector seat :)
I agree! I love the ride but the station is big & poorly designed. I always see people go for the middle part when there are only 1 cycle of people in the front row. I think the ride op could do a better job of keeping the station less crowded. The best was Millenium Crew in 2007!!! they did such a nice job on not keeping the station crowded.
The sign looks real good it kinda reminds me of TTD's. Probably because of the off balanced look. It looks really cool, can't wait to see it on Saturday in person. I wonder what Tony means when he says more Magnum decorations.
Where is the ejector seat located at anyways? I think I ask this so many times but I can never remember.

^^ Magnum's platform is usually controlled. There are really only a handful of times that I can remember the past two seasons where we had no crowd control at the top of the stairs and had the station completely flooded. Because of how fast-paced the ride is, it's practically impossible to do crowd at Magnum the same way they do it at Millennium Force, and so the station needs to always be somewhat flooded.
^ The ejector seat is Car 1, Row 3. Make sure to tighten your seatbelt extra tight and not let your lapbar fall down too far if you decide to ride in that row!!!

^Thanks! I will have to write it down on my hand on Saturday, because I know I'll forget. :-) But it will probably get washed off in the rain. My saying for rollercoasters is if I waited that long to ride I might as well wait a bit longer and ride in the front or the best seat. And what do you mean about the lapbar falling?

^ If the lap bar is to low then when you get the amazing airtime that you will undoubtedly experience during the ride it will hurt because the bar is so close while not allowing you to get the full amount of airtime you deserve. I have made this mistake more than once.

Hoping to one day build these great machines that we affectionatly call "Coasters"
The line for the ejector seat is always the shortest, as well. The way the station is designed, the line for the first row (and in some cases the 2nd row) have to spill around that corner and cover up the queue for the 3rd row. Most of the time, if you're just polite about it, you can squeeze through everyone and get to the 3rd row with little or no wait (usually a max of 1 train when everyone else has to wait for 3 or 4). I've taken advantage of that several times.
They made a big deal out of Magnum's 10th in 1999 as well. It was on the logo outside the park, and the main circular flower bed that year too. It helps that both years nothing new opened.
Next year is MF's 10th if there isnt a new ride I would expect that to get a good amount of marketing attention as well.
Magnum's station does suck. If you're standing in the control booth, you can see barely half of the train. Then they started putting the ride ops behind columns which is also ultra stupid. I can't say with any certainty that all of this blindness makes the ride less safe, but it still strikes me as a serious design flaw.
