Magnum Path

Hey quick question. I have a Platinum pass, my friend has a regular CP season pass. Would he be able to go along the path with me sometime? I know you have to exit through Soak City to get to it from the park.

He most likely won't, since he cannot go in Soak City, unless you wanted to buy a soak city ticket.

To walk the Magnum Path you do not have to go through Soak City. The entrance to the path is between Soak city and the hotel beach.

To clarify for those who may still be confused. If you park in the soak city lot, walk towards the CP entry gate. But instead of entering the park, continue to walk straight on the path between the bathrooms and the pretzel shop. when you get to the start of the boardwalk look to the left, the path starts right there.

If you know where the beach is at CP, there is a walkway ( lets call it a boardwalk) along it in front of Hotel Breakers. The path to Sandcastle Suites starts at the end of the beach boardwalk, which is by Soak City, and the Bon Aire wing of Breakers. The pathway has soak city and magnum on one side of it, and the CP beach on the other.

You do not need any park tickets to walk along the beach, or this pathway.

It starts here. If you use Street View, the two workers are walking out of the path. Also, turn satellite option on. It's the green arrow.

Eat 'em up, Tigers, eat 'em up!

^^ Nice, that's better than trying to describe it.

I've loved strolling down this path for years. I remember back in '93 or '94 a storm caused the Lake Erie waves to flow over the barrier and wash out much of the pathway. I'm glad they rebuilt it. I also remember when you used to be able to approach the back side of the soak city swim-up bar from the path and enjoy a drink without entering the park. Last I remember, they changed this and you no longer can.

Somewhat thread related... is there a way to access the beach from Soak City? It would be nice to take a dip in the lake and then head back to the water park but I have no idea how to do this!

There is no direct or easy way to get to the lake from Soak City. You would have to exit normally and walk over to the beach. Quickest way is through the gate closest to Breakers and head over to the beach from there.

Not so sure i'd take a dip in the lake right now with the algae bloom that is causing even tap water to be unsafe and boiling it only makes the toxin levels higher.

FYI, the water is safe now.

There is a brochure/info sheet you can pick up at hotel or campground check in desks on park trails. Maps them out quite nicely if I remember right.

Took the walk down the Magnum Path for the first time ever tonight. It was quiet, pretty, and enjoyable. I didn't see any lights on the path so I think it would be a bit spooky walking back to Lighthouse Point at night. We made it all the way to the cabins and Lighthouse Point, walked through that hotel and then found a hotel shuttle that took us back to the front of the park :)

Oh and no entry to the swim up bar from the path.

We walked it today, too. The lines were so long for everything we decided to go exploring. We walked as far as Sandcastle Suites and then walked the beach on the way back. I got a nice upside down picture of the "25" rock formation in Magnum's pretzel curve.

Thanks for clarifying what the 25 was! I saw it and it looked like a heart but I didn't study it close enough. How cool! :)

It's a lot clearer if you see it from Magnum. If I didn't already know what it was I probably wouldn't have noticed it from the path.

They only started doing the rock formation, if I'm not mistaken, the summer Carly Rae Jepsen performed Call Me Maybe and the rock formation said "Call Me Maybe." At least that's the first time I ever noticed it.

Rock formation? I'm assuming employees formed the number 25 with rocks somewhere along Magnum?

Within the pretzel turn, one half says "25" and the other says either "2014" or "2k14"
