Magnum Painting

Funny, I'd just logged in to ask if anyone knew if Magnum was going to be painted this year, and after doing a refresh, there was the news item.

So..what color exactly is "moly orange". Is it a brighter orange color than the current orangish red?

Maybe the argument over whether Magnum is orange or red will finally come to an end.

Thanks! I think the argument will continue, though, as that color is so deep orange as to almost look red.

Could anyone do an adobe photoshop/image ready rendering of how the coaster will look like?

I could, but I need to re-install Photoshop. We crashed our computer a week back and I forgot to put it back on.

Well, looking at the color of Moly Orange it almost looks like the color that Magnum is now, does it not?

Well, it's been a long time since I last posted. Anyway, I "took a stab" at the Photoshop work, giving Magnum a Moly Orange hue. I used the afformentioned link to achieve the right color. I hope it looks alright.

There's a lot of work being done. There's people on MF, TTD, Magnum, maXair, Mean Streak.

Is it just me or does that color look signifigantly more orange than the original paint? This new color is definitely orange, whereas the old color seemed to lean more towards red in my opinion.

Dont forget that Magnum's color for the first couple of years was almost exactly the same color if not the same as the Moly Orange. The sun beating down on it over the years could of possibly turned it to a more red shade.

I'm excited for this new paint job. Even though I think Maggie should be red, this color won't look too bad. At least it will be solid and shiny. :)

I have to say, as a roller coaster fan and a graphic designer, I am not a fan of that color, which I would deem a lame shade of orange. I would have liked to have seen them make it a better, bolder red, since all the promotional material surrounding Magnum, including the park maps, use red instead of orange. Or at least give it a color with definition. It's not "en vogue".

Imagine if MF, instead of electric blue, was some kind of dark teal. Would it be as attractive? I wouldn't think so.

Magnum has always been orange, though originally less orange than it appears now. It's been due for a paint job for the better part of a decade, and I think Iron Dragon's track got Magnum's track paint.

This is long overdue!

That new paint is gonna look hot on magnum. It does look very similar to the first coat of paint it had. Maybe the ride will seem faster to because of the paint job. I dono i just can't wait to go back after 6 long months.
