Magnum Paint

I'm sure they probably have started painting it. Maybe they're starting painting on the pretzel loop and working on the bunny hops. Maybe they'll get to the first hill and the second hill later.

I wish I was as optimistic as you! ;) I'm getting a bad feeling they're putting it off AGAIN. :( Who knows though. Raptor got done pretty last minute. So did Mantis. You gotta figure though that they have less than four weeks before the ride is going to be running pretty much full time for training week and such. Presumably, the trains would be going back on the track any day now if not already and it would start testing soon. Time is getting short it seems.

I hope CP comes through! :) Magnum deserves it.

I'm sure the weather has to cooperate, doesn't it? You can't just paint in any temperature. I would think at least 50 degrees F, or is it possible to pour antifreeze into the paint? :) ID's track was done last fall, but were the columns painted in the cold weather?

How do they paint the coasters? Do they spray the paint on or do they just use some sort of brush? Also in terms of Iron Dragon, this fall was pretty warm for the most part.

well, your first mistake is believing something is true just because a website says it is....Unless I see A)an official press release on CP.com saying that Magnum was painted, or I B)walk into the park and see bright fresh new colors on Magnum I won't believe its painted....It may still get painted but they'll have to have a crew working from now till opening to get it done...Does anyone know if they use a power-sprayer or roller/brush? I'm sure a sprayer would be quicker, but would waste a lot of paint.

I remember teh painting company using roller brushes on Mantis last year. I didn't pay attention to them to much to see if there were any sprayers either.

Towards the end of the season there was a test strip at the base of the lift painted and it was orange, I think we're going to see it go unpainted one more year and have it done by the 2005 season.

Yup, and I was the first person to suspect it was an April Fools. ;) Sorry. It was a pretty good Scam though. It still sticks around in the Rumors sections on other sites. Just the other day, I saw on a site I never heard of before (can't find it right now) they were like, "You here CP may be painting Magnum Green and Purple for 2004"
