In as much as I would have rather rode than be a ride op - I was a proud Raptor crew member I made it my 6 weeks! Gimme my bonus!! For my last weekend here is my summary-enjoy!
High Points: Weather was awesome (of course compared to LAST weekend anything would have been an improvement!) Seeing Dan, Mel, Hooper, Wiredog, Rob, Dave, Dave, Dave (yes the famous 3 Daves) Carl and his cute kids, Rob, Angel, Raptor137 (I think thats his name here) Coaster, Jason, 3 people from my real job, my FAV PR guy in this whole world, Tyler and Monty Jasper (2x!!) Commons parking lot Saturday night =) Party in my room Sunday night =) Doing speels or controls when Hooper, Wiredog and Rob were riding "Losing" ID tag so had to buy another one- then "finding" my original one so I guess thats mine! Getting into argument w/guest about how the NY Mets are better than the Yankees (he said I was a woman after his own heart) Hooper-how about doin dispatch?? 8:00pm Sunday night Applauding last 2000 season riders on Raptor (even though I was on controls then!!) Last Raptor ride of the season with crew People on platform screaming "welcome back Raptor riders how was your flight?" to us when we got back to station Sitting around in park long after closing with my 2 bestest buds
Low Points: All queues open Saturday and what a MESS was left for us it was incredible. It took 3 of us over an hour to clean it up and we still had to do it again Sunday morning UGH My daughter was there Saturday and didnt even ride Raptor so I didnt get to see her =( (Raptor and Mantis make her puke-go figure) The spider on dispatch that made me scream Trying to survive on 2 hours sleep all 3 days Doing puke clean up Sunday night-it was the NASTIEST puke I have ever seen! (However we were all trying to keep our sense of humor about it and were trying to figure out what it was-we all came to the conclusion it was chicken)
Will miss: Seeing all my friends AM test rides Speels Controls Balancing stick on foot Cafe breakfast Walking around park in a.m. when its EMPTY
Wont miss: Being asked 20,000x if someone is tall enough People bending down when they go thru entrance to look shorter Despite the BIG sign still being asked "how long is the wait" and then asked "how accurate is that?" FULL trains-people SCREAMING in a.m. and still being asked if we were open Crowd control-HATED that position!!! Cleaning Raptor in the a.m. Parents arguing their kid was 54" tall People asking me when the rain was going to stop People asking me if Millennium Force was running People calling MILLENNIUM FORCE "The Millennium" (that just drove me NUTS) Saying goodbye to my CP friends and crew members
Stupiest things I saw: Woman strapped her purse into the seat next to her Obviousely pregnant woman asking me if the shoulder restraints would be hard on her belly DUH-told her not to ride it
Funniest lines I heard in the 6 weeks I worked there: Large gentleman seat 84-was working on getting the seatbelt locked for him and his friend in seat 81 said "suck it in you fat bas----" I thought I was going to die! (Did get him in btw)
2 guys going thru entrance the one guy pointed at his friend and asked: "is he too ugly to ride?"
Will I be returning to CP as an employee next year? I am glad that I can add working at CP as one of my chapters in my life book (thanks Max for that line) but I have never worked so hard for such little $$ before!! I have a whole new appreciation for how hard all the employees there work, and as far as working there again-- if you see me there next year it is a pretty safe bet I will be BEHIND the yellow line riding my favorite ride with my favorite people!! I imagine it will be WEEKS before I have feeling back in my fingers thanks to controls!
Raptor still rules my sky Cedar Point is still the bestest place on earth to me
Thanks to all my friends (old and new) who helped me keep my sanity thru out the 6 weeks. Your kind words, hugs, the way you made it fun for me really made my day. I hope that I managed to be one of your favorite ride ops and made it fun for you all too! I love you all and CU@CP!
(Oh yeah and LETS GO METS!!!)

Jo, I'd love it if every guest who asked those stupid questions and behaved like a "goof" (let's not take the webmaster's name in vain:)) and then complained that every employee wasn't smiling like a clown could work there just for a time and learn what it's really like to keep that park as world class as it is. Thanks for checking out the other side!

Thanks for the dispatch Sunday, you made my raptor flights awesome whenever you worked.
Thanks for the last rides on so many nights... and Sunday to put the iceing on the cake..
You know.. I walked past your room at bayside Sunday night on my way back to Louie's, someone told me it was "Jo from Raptor's party" in the hall.. should have stopped in but of course, it was late enough I wasn't even supposed to be in the dorms at that point.
Hope to actually get to RIDE with you next year.
