This might seem like an odd question but...
I have been to disney and a few other parks as well as zoo's and science museums and I have found this type of concession at many. I was wondering if you guys might be able to tell me if CP serves it and if so where at in the park so I'm not walking in circles looking for it.
What I am talking about is normally sold from carts and it looks like tiny little pebbles. The pebbles are actually ice cream that is frozen. It comes in many flavors.
Anyways hopefully somebody on here has seen these and knows what I talking about. Do they have them at CP? If so where at? Thanks!
Yeah CP has them. They are called Dippin Dots. Pretty good! They have a few carts with them throughout the park

Yeah, I have heard them called that. At the science center they call them astroids.
Can you give me a heads up as to where to look for them? Do they have a decent selection of flavors?
Seems like they only serve these things at parks and stuff because they are so difficult to maintain(have to be contained in a special freezer). *** Edited 9/6/2006 11:00:35 PM UTC by johnj1944***
They also have Tofts Ice Cream parlor in the front of the park near the Sky Ride East station next to Donut Time.

As far as i remember, there are a few mobile carts and one or two stands that have them permanently. My memory of this is bad but if you check the map on www.cedarpoint.com it may show exactly where the stationary ones are.

There are Dippin' Dots carts scattered throughout the park. You will definately need cash though, these carts don't take plastic. I'm not sure about the flavors though.

Tofts is by far some of the, if not the, best ice cream I've ever had. Too bad it's hard to find in stores around here...

When I was at the park Sunday, there was a cart to the right of the big screen used for the light shows (between Iron Dragon and Mantis). Another cart was in frontiertown, but looked to be closed for the season, as it was completly wiped out, and price sign was off the side.
Flavors, I for sure know they have acookies and cream that features Oreo Cookies! Yum.
A newbie to Dippin' Dots! How sweet! lol. But yea, Dippin' Dots are a very popular product and can be found at almost ANY amusement park throughout the country. Even my mall has a Dippin' Dots vending machine!
I remember there being a Dippin Dots place right near the enterance to Gemini. Take a look there, if its not there, ask an employee. They'd be happy to tell you where to find them.

I became addicted this season. There is a $5 size and a $7 size. There is chocolate, vanilla, cookie dough, cookies n cream, banana split, and chocolate mint (there may be one or 2 more.) There is one on the Main Midway by Raptor, one next to Iron Dragon, and one across from Cedar Creek Mine Ride. All of those three were in operation when I was at the park last week. There is one on the Frontier Trail that is closed (as moknowscp mentioned), infact I've never seen it open.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Oh, and I forgot to mention, you can even buy Dippin' Dots online. They're a bit pricey...but you get a lot. Its still expensive though.

The big permanent Dippin Dots stand is in the old Surrey, between Cedar Downs and Cadillacs.
For ice cream at C.P. I prefer the Frozen Custard- it's comes out of a machine like soft serve. The Main Midway stand near the fountain is your best bet, the Frontier Town location in the fire house seems to only be open on busy days.
I'm the oldest one here. CP emp '73-'74
If Dippin Dots are the ice cream of the future - why are they available now? :) little philosophy humor for the evening.

Yeah there are three places that I know for a fact serve Dippin Dots, and all were mentioned above, the one by Gemini, the one by Corkscrew, and the one by the entrance to the Frontier Trail. I am not sure which ones are open this late in the season but I think the on by Corkscrew is open through the last operating day.
Also the Sandusky Mall has a Dippin Dots vending machine, it is right in front of Kaufman's (soon to be Macy's), and they are $3 for a package about the size of the small cups at CP.

Most malls in my area have them, and I know they are becoming popular all over as I have seen them often in my travels. There are Dippin Dots stores all over at the shore!
Mmmm...banana split...
Dippin dots has always reminded me a little bit of the space ice cream. You know that freeze dried stuff they sell at museums? I love that stuff.
It's always time for a Cedar Point road trip!
There's also the semi-permanant Dippin Dots stand across the midway from Dragster, next to Corkscrew's first turn to the lift.
I have a question.
When exactly will they stop calling it the "ice cream of the future"?
Is there a delorean parked out back somewhere near the factory?
Promoter of fog.
Kevinj, that was the dumbest thing I've ever read...I mean jeez, we all know the Delorean was destroyed!! Doc just lands the time train and pulls into the Main Midway station every week with a reload. Get it right!! :)
