What do you think is going to happen in the next 10 years in the park? What are some things you would like to see happen.
I would like to see:
Floorless conversion to Mantis
New themed dark ride, maybe like a return of the pirate ride, same area.
Redo corkscrew. The original is so painful. Imagine a new one that could use the area where maintenance and employee housing is. It would have more room, plus it could still be blue, and still have the 2 corkscrews over the midway. Don't increase the thrill level though. There still needs to be a balance.

A boardwalk. I know this is a big one, but it would be awesome. Remove the Extreme sports stadium, and it could extend out from there. It was discussed somewhere else on here, but I would really like to see that happen. I would love to have something like WildCat on it. (:

Expansion by Blue streak. You could fit a decent sized coaster if you got rid of the theatre and moved the employee housing and the road. As much as I would want another coaster like Maverick or such, I'll have to admit a large, low thrill family coaster, such as something like Disaster Transport, would be a better move for the park.

Get the new texas giant treatment done on Mean Streak.
Another kiddie coaster in between Camp Snoopy and Kiddie Kingdom. Something about the size of Woodstock express could fit. It'd have to be a little smaller though, as seen:

Reduce the size of the Soak City parking lot. I've never seen that thing full. Maintenance could be moved there.

I think thats about it on my list for now. Let me know what you think.
A dark ride would be nice and can be easily accommodated in the area vacated by Golds or Cedars.
The soak city lot is routinely full & moving ride maintenance further away from the rides makes very little sense.
Mean Streak just completed a multiyear re-tracking project that I would be very surprised to see last less than 10 years.
A boardwalk running along the beach would be nice, but a pier jutting into the lake serves no purpose.
Converting Mantis to floorless has been discussed many times previously and isn't simply a matter of slapping different trains on it. Apart from the complete reconstruction of the station the course would have to be adjusted to account for the different dynamics of the ride.
Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."
Hello
First time poster here but have browsed these forums off and on for years.
I was at the MF opening 13 years ago and I had a chance to talk to the park manager for a few minutes. One of the things I asked him was how far ahead they plan expansion and he told me that from idea to completion can be as long as 5 years. He also said a good amount of thinking also goes into ride improvement, relocation, or ride removal.
Things may have changed since then I really dont know. But its interesting to think that cedar point may already be thinking about what they want for the 2017 season. It could be a new kiddie ride, or a thrill ride, or retiring a current ride or maybe even relocation.
I always hear talk of the next big coaster but Im more interested in a ride that does it all. I was very pleased with Maverick because the ride was nothing like anything that came before it. Innovation is what pleases me the most. 10mph faster or 20 feet taller means nothing if it doesnt thrill you any more than the coaster its trying to beat. *Cough Kingda Ka *Cough.
Hopefully CP can continue its tradition of innovation.
To anyone wanting Cedar Point to build a large pier, it will never happen. We live in the 21st century. The amount of red tape Cedar Point would have to go through, not to mention resistance from treehuggers, makes no sense to anyone a Cedar Point.
The one thing I would like to see is an extention of the boardwalk from it current location to somewere near the open area near Gatekeeper.
^ I would also like to see the current boardwalk extended toward GK.
Out of your five proposals, the 3rd one is probably the most likely in the coming years with the relocation of Cedars dorms offsite and the dullness of the Blue Streak area. I didn't think about it before but along with the Turnpike cars, I can see the Cadillacs going by the wayside (built in the 1950's!) since the Antique cars were put in Frontiertown in 1969 and are the younger of the two. Cp hasn't liked duplicate rides in the past so I'm surprised they managed to co-exist this long. That is a nice area of the park to expand on in the future.
I've emailed the park in the past about your 4th option (tying together Kiddie Kingdom and Planet Snoopy and was told "it has been brought up in the past but...management hasn't decided to pull the trigger yet". So it might happen or it may never. I think it's a 50/50.
I've seen the Soak city lot full this summer, they reroute traffic back there alot from the main entrance and there will be less main parking with GK.
Because of the lake's unpredicatable nature in the winter (ie ICE flows) the boardwalk extending into the lake won't happen unless this was a warmer climate.
It's nice to know that they'll give you a truthful answer that it's been brought up in the past. I really think that'll be next years expansion, especially with what they're doing at Kings Dominion. There's really no point of having two different kids areas right next to each other.

I'm curious about whether or not three of our most high profile rides will be there by 2025, which is twelve years down the line.
Top Thrill Dragster obviously is a mechanical nightmare. Although in recent years it has been doing better, you have to wonder what kind of wear it is going to accumulate in another decade plus of usage.
WindSeeker has also been having many problems in its short life-span, although, I'm pretty sure everything is going to be done to avoid another Vertigo.
Magnum has been aging very well, and is entering it's 24th season if I am correct, making it one of the older coasters in the park now. Like Dragster, you have to wonder how it is going to handle the next ten years or so, especially if it is "sinking" like everybody seems to think it is.
1. Millennium Force
2. Maverick
3. Top Thrill Dragster
Magnum runs great as far as I know. It has been taken care of extremely well. I doubt it's going anywhere
They could move the maintenance building off site to the land they bought across from Castaway bay or even on the land next to the breakers express.
With Woodstock Express I think in that location it takes up too much of the midway. It would be better to leave it where it is now and make a new coaster which would fit in better.
Whatever they do, I hope it involves another blue or red coaster!! There aren't enough of them around the park!
I think a green coaster is next.

The thought of them announcing Magnum's destruction makes me picture a bunch of us handcuffing ourselves to the ride.
Let's Get Weird.
^^I think a bright green track and blue supports would look cool on a coaster. Anyway, it'll be fun in 10 years time to look back at all this (hopefully PB will still be around which I'm sure it will) and look over everything we speculate about and predict and compare it to what actually happened. I even enjoy reading through some of the first threads on here to see what everyone thought back then compared to how things are now.

I don't get why CP doesn't have an orange coaster.
I still want a dive coaster. I think it would be the perfect ride that CP needs.
I want them to move Kiddie Kingdom too.

^I never thought about that location for Kiddie Kingdom (if the stadium is removed) but that actually sort of makes sense. It would be better connected with Planet Snoopy, which a lot of people on here seem to want to happen, and they could even transform Planet Snoopy and your proposed Kiddie Kingdom location into one massive kids area with some new rides. I like your idea of putting in a family coaster in the spot where Kiddie Kingdom currently is, too. I think a little coaster would look good in that location.

I love all your designs Rcoaster10, they always make sense. I think that removing the stadium and putting Kiddy Kingdom there would be great. It just seems like it would be nice to sit on the edge of the beach while watching your kids on the rides. I feel like the area Kiddy Kingdom now is kinda crammed so just putting a family coaster there would make sense.

I've wanted a dive coaster in the park ever since I rode Griffon at Busch Gardens. That ride was awesome there, and I can only imagine what Cedar Point could do with the base design and make it incredible. i.e. add 50-100' and a couple more inversions besides just the immelmann's that the Busch parks have. Some would discount it because its kind of like Maverick with the vertical drop, but I argue the LSM quick lift and drop of Maverick is so much different than the steep lift and then stall that the dive coasters have.
What I would really love to see is another further expansion of Hotel Breakers in the area of Golds, with another re route of perimeter road in that area allowing more room for parking as well (referring to picture 1 from the OP). But I wouldn't be mad if they replaced Corkscrew with another coaster that flips over the midway.
I'm still in love with the pier idea. It would be like a whole new section of the park that won't clutter the midways. I always imagined it going between WT and Disaster Transport (now Gatekeeper obviously). It could have it's own shops, restaurants, and a few classical rides like Giant Wheel, Matterhorn, Super Himalaya, and a Wildmouse kind of coaster out there too. But I know so many people are getting annoyed with the thought of it coming up, so I'll just drop it.
I always thought having all 3: Cad Cars, Turnpike Cars, and Antique Cars in the park was pretty pointless, but they really don't take up as much room as we think. Supports could always be placed in between the track of these car rides, but at the same time, I wouldn't mind seeing them go. On another thread, somebody drew a picture of the re-route, locations for small and large flats, and a new midway connecting that Blue Streak area of the park which I absolutely love the idea of too.
Planet is definitely missing a kids coaster in it's area hands down.
Soak City lot is always full in the summer so I don't think removing or downsizing would be a good idea.
But I love the ideas and I've always had in the back of my mind what I would do to the park and these ideas are pretty spot on
I've seen a good amount of people say they want a dive coaster. I've never been on one so I can't really agree or disagree with this but are they really that great? I guess they're sort of uncommon so one would fit in with CP's unique coaster collection. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't there some agreement between B&M and Busch Gardens that another dive coaster couldn't be built? I'm not sure if that applied to a certain region or time frame though. Anyway, whenever we get our next coaster whether it's in 3 years, 5 years, or even 10 years, I just hope it's something unlike anything currently out there.
