My girlfriend and I have season passes but she dosent like going as much as I do so one of the times I went this year was by myself. I had a blast, I thought it would be a little boring but it wasnt I brought my mp3 player and tuned everyone out. Ill be going alot more next year on my own. Has anyone else gone by themselves?

I've been to the park quite a few times on my own during my time off of work. While I still enjoyed myself, the feeling you have after you get off the ride just isn't the same. The great thing when you get off a roller coaster is sharing the experience with others. Waiting in line can be boring, but it all depends on how social you are and the people who are in line next to you. There were times where I waited a 1 1/2 hours for Maverick and had a nice long conversation with the people in front of me. Other times I wanted to pull my hair out because I was so bored. iPods and games on your cell phone really help out there.
To me, these things are meant to be done in groups of 2 or more.

I do this quite a bit. My friends just can't handle all the riding and prefer the benches or games. Sure there is a lot to do at Cedar Point besides riding and I reserve those days for friends. But when I want to ride, I just pick up and go.
I enjoy the drive, it gives me time to work when I am by myself in the car. I also like being able to choose to marathon or not and I can choose which ride I want.
I would rather be by myself 9 times out of 10.
There are quite a few times where I visited the park by myself. Of course, I go on the not so busy days so I don't have the pulling my hair out urge. You actually end up meeting some interesting people if you aren't shy about it. Most people that go to amusement parks by themselves are the roller coaster addicts. Some of the one time visit per season guests like to hear about all the statistics and roller coasters that there are out there. I have a lot people asking me where a certain ride is located in the park. We are human maps. Sometimes I bring my mp3 player or a book to read in lines, but I find it more fun to talk to people and educate them on the Point... And you can also meet some fellow PointBuzzers by going alone.

I've never made a trip to the Point by myself, but I've resigned myself to the fact that it's going to have to happen next season. Most of the people I know that like going were pretty sick of me begging them to go. Even my 13 year old son starting groaning at the mention of another trip.
I don't mind riding alone (with a family of 3, one of us always has to), it's the standing in line that bugs me.
Good ideas here though... lighter attendance days, MP3 player, etc.

I agree, all my memories from park over the summer are when I was with other people. I've walked around many times by myself, its just not the same.

I don't think I could go alone, I was in line for Millennium Force this summer and had to ride all alone and the whole time I was in line, I was super bored and lonely.
Even waiting in line by myself, or sitting/walking around waiting to meet somebody is kind of boring. I'm a very outgoing guy, and don't mind talking to strangers, when there's a time and a place - but at CP, I just can't go it alone...

Nope. I've done bits and pieces alone (such as marathoning Magnum at closing on a Friday night) but even that is much more fun with a few friends.

Oh ya. This summer, my one trip this year, my girlfriend at the time couldn't make it because she had to move and I went with my dad. He can't take these "big rides" anymore because of his back, and his old age. haha. So I went 1 and 1/2 days by myself and my dad went with me for 1/2 of the 1st day and then we went 1/2 day at the end of the trip. I felt it odd being there by myself and was kind of board-especially in the TTD and MF lines because they were the longest. But it was also good because I went on Raptor 2 times in a row, and MF 3 times in a row (the 3rd time just jumping in the back of the line before close). I didn't have to convince anyone to stay and go on it again. But riding the actual ride is much better with someone, that you know.

I had to ride Gemini by myself... It wasn't that bad. I had to ride Maverick sitting next to some woman who had lost her voice so it was all raspy and I was laughing at her the whole time! :)

As a season pass holder, I found myself going alone many times this year. With some of my friends schedules, marriages and work, it's tough to schedule.
There are days that I was so free to do anything I wanted and no one to question or change it. Although, there were some drawn out days...

I went alone 2x this year but only for a short time. 1st time in May to buy a CP sweatshirt for my wife and decided to ride TTD since the line was so short. My 1st and only roll back. It was awesome, even as a single rider.
Recently went on a Friday night as a stress reducing thing and as a single rider got my 1st and only front seat ride on TTD. They called for a single rider as I was sitting 2 rows back and I darted to the front of the train. It was never convenient to wait the extra time with a less than 52" kid, so I never bothered. It was truly awesome!
Even when with others at the park, I end up a single rider from time to time and usually make temporary friends and have a lot of nice conversations. It can be fun if you like to socialize with strangers.
Some day my kids will be grown and gone and my wife won't be able to keep up with me at CP. Then I will get myself a single rider T-shirt and ride solo when no one else can or wants to come with me to CP. :)
I went alone a few Sunday's ago with plans of meeting up with some Pointbuzzers. The drive down was nice, very peaceful with a good selection of music and a nice sunny morning. I met up with Raptor Jo at Raptor's ERT and that was fun. For the next few hours I was alone. I waited about 30-40 minutes for Dragster and then around an hour for Maverick. Those were the longest lines, everything in between was walk on. I met up with a bunch of people in the afternoon. I don't think I could ever spend a full day alone at CP. I'm not the most outgoing person. It just felt wierd not talking to anyone for so long. It all depends on your personality.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I did it this year. I had taken a trip with my family. Since I was driving home by myself, I stayed and went into the park an extra day by myself and had a blast. Went on all my favorite rides and did some fun stuff and still got home at a descent time.

I took my first trip(s) of the season to each park by myself -- one to KI and one to CP. Got out all of my 'big ride' urges and that way I was a lot more chill for the rest of the summer, without either a) making everyone wait while I wait two hours for the major rides or b) being bummed about having to skip what I want to do.
Unfortunately the friends that I've gone with are, for the most part, not coaster riders. My partner in crime for the summer wouldn't ride anything even remotely tall (it took us all summer to get to 80-100 ft, lol.) So even when I go with them, I'm alone on the rides. (Usually they wait with me in line, at least.) It definitely IS more fun with other people, but not the worst thing to go alone, either. I find it gives me some good 'me' time.
I'm glad I'm not the only person who enjoys going alone. Sure, it's great to go with people, but other times it's great to just be able to do what you want and not have to compromise. The experience can be made by the people you meet around you in line. Sometimes you can strike up the most interesting conversations with strangers. I go myself as a stressbuster! I ride whatever rides I want, and can roam around, without having to worry about what "everyone else wants to do".
