Living in the Breakers

Hi, I heard there is some employee housing in the breakers, is this true? What is the place like? Do you have your own bathroom, air-conditioning, internet access?

yes the rotunda section is for employee housing. its just a bunk bed and a single bed with dressers. its better than cedars i thought cus u can have a/c in there. its reserved for accomidation employees i think tho

Yes, it is just for Accommodations employees and it tends to be more strict...particularly when it comes to noise. They do not tolerate employees distrubing guests who are paying big bucks to rent rooms.

The Rotunda rooms (way up on the 4th and 5th floors) often go to the BUNAC (foreign) kids. There are also rooms in Twin (the two long hallways above the main entrance of the hotel). Those were guest rooms as recently as 7 or 8 years ago. Each room has it's own bathroom and, at one time anyway, an air conditioner. I don't know how many people they put in those rooms these days.

The Rotunda rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors are generally reserved for seasonal managers, night security, etc.

They are reserved for the Accomodations employees but they do fill up fast. I've been in a few rooms and they remind me of cedars and gold still. Which was on the second floor above the main wing where the shuttle does drop offs.

Yeah, they're a little reminicent of Cedars and Gold, but you have AC and your own bathroom, so it's a little better.Talk to you manager when you arrrive to see if there are still rooms available. They have 4 to a room in twin and I'm not really sure how many in the rotunda rooms on the upper floors. I liked living in the hotel much more than living in Gold.
