I hate it when I am in line for TTD and it breaks... so people start smoking and I can't because I won't... It hurts because I want one, but I am a polite guest...Same situation with TTD and people get out of line... But as soon as it launches succesfully, people come running back to get their spot that someone held for them. I hate that more than anything...
Once you're out... you're out!
Thank you for being one of a few that think of others when it comes to smoking in line.

You know, I've never seen a line jumper tossed out of line, much less tossed out of the park. I have seen that throwing a tub of popcorn at certain higher ups will get you kicked out of the park pretty fast.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
It might help when Cedar Point employees stop referring to the Officers as SECURITY. Be honest, if someone threatened to call Security on you, would you be scared? I'd probably start laughing. If offenders know a POLICE officer might be coming, I think that might make a guest either stop what their doing or leave the situation entirely. Plus, as someone else mentioned, the higher ups don't want people thrown out of the park who might be spending $$$ for simple line-jumping or smoking offenses. However, certain situations warrant it.
You know, line jumping is irritating to me, as is smoking in line. One of the ride-ops at maXair last year was a very vocal person, and when she noticed the guy line jumping he really got an earful from her. :) Needless to say, he got out of the line rather quickly. As for smoking, it drives me, and my allergies crazy. Being allergic to grass and tree pollen, two very abundant things at CP, the smoke fumes start instigating my allergies, no matter how drugged up I am.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
I'm guessing the park phones... as that is the park security number; but you probably shouldn't use those if you're just a park guest...

Not sure if anyone heard of this or not and it has been a while. I was around 14-15 years old.
It was either 1989 or 90 right after Maggie opened and the lines were a good 3 hours long. The cue lines that run off to the right of where you walk in (today) were full and pass the restrooms. A group of guys jumped right over the lines and the other guys there did not like that, nor the crowd. The guys who jumped were clearly drinking (beer, they still had the cups) and being very belligerent. Before we knew it, there were fists and blood was flying. It happened so quick, I know I missed some details. The CP police were there rather quickly and escorted them away. Once we got to the point of where it happened, we saw the blood on the concrete and the line posts.
Was anyone there that day or ever heard of this? Like I said, I can only remember certain details. Clearly these guys were not the sharpest tools in the shed!

I'm not allergic to smoke and I still hate it. I hate the smell of it and the way it makes your clothes smell.
As far as line jumpers being kicked out of the park, I don't think they should on their first offense. Some kids just need a little wake-up call that line-jumping is not acceptable. When I was in about 5th grade me and a friend were line jumping like bandits on Loggers Run at MiA. That is until a couple of ladies yelled at us and threatened to tell the ride ops. Needless to say we stopped, and I never line jumped again.

Unfortunately, I have seen plenty of line-jumping in my time at CP. There is a lot of it in queues like those for the Magnum, or the Demon Drop, where it is somewhat secluded, and out of direct view. Then you get people leaping over the bars and going underneath them and ending up 5 or 10 people in front of you. Usually joining their friends. It's very irritating, and since I am non-confrontational, I guess I am also abetting it by not challenging them. But, the last thing I want is a fight. Plus, I always feel like I would be laughed at or ignored by the ride ops, or looked at like a snitch by people who hear or see me point the offender out. It is extremely frustrating to those of us who obey the rules to be abused by those who do not. Many times I see people around me grumbling or looking disgusted, but somehow, none of us ever has taken the initiative to challenge those rule-breakers.

I've seen a lot of them at MM, DL and Knotts. Usually it was mexican or oriental people and if you tried to say something they acted like they didn't speak english. Sounds bad, but it's true. And not kids but adults with entire families.
The line jumpers I've seen at CP are usually kids. I would say something to them but in my eyes it's not worth it. If things did escalate to fistacuffs with these punks, an adult facing a minor would not look too good. It's up to the park employees to enforce the rules, not other guests.
I always challenge line jumpers. Usually when I see them coming, I spread my hands and feet out to block the entire queue. At Great Adventure one time, this one little punk tried cutting under the queue right next to me so I "boxed him out," nearly breaking his teeth in the process.
If they get by, I yell, "HEY EVERYBODY LOOK AT THE LINE JUMPER!" and point at him.
I make a big scene and then other people get involved and back me up. It sure does make time go fast. And sometimes you get so many guests to point them out that an employee will not let them ride.
It's also great when they wait at the bottom of the exit to give you the evil "I'll bust your teefs out" stare after the ride! I love it!

I'd rather use logic and make them feel like idiots rather then get into a fight, but if they get roudy, I will kick there ass.

I saw a quote earlier in this post about someone "scared to tell a ride-op about line jumping because they thought the employee would laugh at them." My advice to that is TELL THE RIDE-OP. As a past ride op, it was important for me to enforce all the rules of the ride so that everyone could see that we ain't going to take any BS. If a ride-op doesn't know about an offense, they can't act upon it, sending a message to everyone else that they can do whatever they want. This can and has made for several dangerous situations. i.e. The guest with long hair who's hair got caught in the engine of the go-kart. Needless to say, this guest suffered severe whiplash. There are warning signs posted about long hair on this ride. And I just happened to be in charge when it was the TL's day off.

Last year two kids were "rejoining" their parents in line for MF. Well they actually were, but you could tell when the people around them were done swearing and making rude comments that the parents would never consider that option again. I've never seen anyone look like they wanted the earth to open up and swallow them whole while glowing that brightly red from shame before, it was great.
