Line Jumping

Everyone knows that line jumping is against CP's policies and that if you do it you get thrown out. Has anyone actually seen this? And if so were they going pyscho?

Personally I've never seen this happen otherwise I wouldn't start it.

I can tell you that it does indeed happen, though most frequently under a couple of circumstances:

1) Repeated offenses
2) Being belligerent/confrontational with employees (especially security)

Unless one or both of those are met, the result is usually a warning and removal from the line.

To permit guests to enjoy rides as quickly as possible, line jumping is not allowed. Line jumping is defined as: cutting in front of other guests already waiting in line; leaving a line, then trying to re-enter the line at that same point; or saving a place for someone. This includes using rest rooms and purchasing food and drink, so please make all stops beforfe entering a line. Line jumping, regardless of the reason, may lead to dismissal from the park. This rule is strictly enforced, with no refunds.

MAY lead to dismissal. I've asked people to leave lines before, but I've never dealt with one so serious that I needed to call security to have them escorted out of the park. I'm sure it has happened before though.

What's the difference between a regular line-jumper and a serious line-jumper? Both are breaking the rules, and the rules are no secret. I've always felt there should be no sympathy - just toss them out of the park.

You can lump people who smoke in line into that category as well. (Yes I do smoke, no I don't do it in line.)

I feel exactly the same, and I am a smoker as well. It actually makes me more mad than the non-smokers, because I'm angry they are breaking the rules with no penalty, while I am abiding by them while wanting to smoke. Plus, I get jealous.

I think if the policy were more strict (as in just toss their a**** out), there would be less rule-breakers. Then again, it might cost CP money, so whatever.

Sure that person might not come back, but do you really want someone who can't follow simple rules to come back?

Good point, especially considering that it would improve the experience for those who follow the rules. I just really, really don't like it when people break rules - especially those which should be common sense.

Lump? Never heard that one, that's funny.

Here we go again...

I have seen on more than one instance that guests were smoking in line and a Ride Operator walked right by the guests and didn't say anything.

I hate when people smoke in line because we have no where to go and I hate smelling it, I think this policy need to be more inforced.

I don't work at Cedar Point, yet, but while I am working at the Columbus Zoo, I have no problem asking people to put their cigarettes out. I kindly ask, then show them to a designated smoking area. I'm quite surprised by some off the people that will listen to a younger employee telling them to stop. Ive only had to call security when a bunch of kids were smoking pot, with many complaints from the customers.

In '02, I worked at the Grand Prix and Sprint Race Tracks. Often times with line jumpers, I would send them to the back of the line, regardless of excuse. On rare occasions, I would have to call security to escort the guest away from the ride due to billigerent behavior. (Security was right next to my ride). Only on one occasion did I have security escort the guest out of the park. (Since Challenge Park is out of the park already, security took a sponge and wiped off the handstamp the guest had received) If I had a nickel for everytime a guest asked me for my name and badge number........

I don't like line jumpers. If they do it near me I start talking to the people around me about it then we talk about the person to try to make them mad...lol...it is actually pretty fun. But usually a ride op will catch them line jumping. I also do not like it when people smoke in line. The only ride that I usually ever have trouble with smokers is Millennium, Somehow I always seem to get right by someone who just has to smoke in that line.

That happened to me too, a smoker was right behind in the line for Millennium force.

It didn't bother me, but I saw other people who ready to hit them over the head with something.

I've never seen a Line Jumper at any park anywhere, guess they stay away from me, because I will confront them and do whatever it takes to get them kicked out of the line. Or atleast just stay behind me.

I mean really, whats the point anyway? Is it really worth getting caught and kicked out of the park to butt infront of a couple people to get a little closer to riding? Get a Life.

Unless it's a VIP(Celebs), they are going to wait like everybody else.

A VIP isn't going through the line anyway. They'll probably just go right up the exit.

I hate it when I am in line for TTD and it breaks... so people start smoking and I can't because I won't... It hurts because I want one, but I am a polite guest...

Same situation with TTD and people get out of line... But as soon as it launches succesfully, people come running back to get their spot that someone held for them. I hate that more than anything...

Once you're out... you're out!

In that case, when they are going to open, CP needs to just have security come over and start escorting people out of the line (preferably to the Magnum gate). Before the line opens, have 4-5 security officers go take position in the line and a couple more waiting outside to escort.

I have seen a line jumper been thrown out of the park. He hopped in front of like half the line and then security came and he went nuts it was so bad they had to stop raptor for a while!

Let's Get Weird.

its really depends on the situation...

but people (GUESTS AND EMPLOYEES) need to point people who are line jumping out to CPPD! I can't guess if people are line jumping. Be vocal- if you see a an officer walking around a queue and someone is line jumping, let them know! Don't feel bad about what you're doing...

last year at WT, an individual was questioned for smoking on a ride platform, and he got himself ejected when he started cursing at the ride op and I. On his way out to the sprial gate, he started apoligizing. oops too late.

help everyone out- POINT OUT LINE JUMPERS... pick up the phone and dial 2345.
