Line jumpers!

Kay guys,, question for ya.
Say you are working the "loading" position one day on oh, lets say RAPTOR!, just because it's my fav, not to mention I had this experience here. ANyhoo....you are working and having a good time and a rider whom you just let through the turnstile says to you quietly that the seven people behind her cut the line and eluded at least a half of an hour wait. Would you make the tattle tales day and send the seven packing,,,or what is the protocol for this if you didn't witness it...do you send the narc packing and hope the line cutting thugs knife her in the lot after the park closes?
Mind you the seven...we shall refer to them as the dirty dozen plus one....are rather lets say...scary and appear to be the types to cause a scene.......then what?
What is the line jumping protocol?
I will have you know that this happend to me and these thugs made me so angry even thought they cut in directly behind me that I thought of saying something to the ride operator but didn't for the sake of fear actually.
So if I would have had the nerve to tell the ride op could anything have been done to punish these heathens!

thanks for giving me the scoop that I love so much!

Last year if people would complain, we would tell our TL or ATL and they would normally take them to the unload side of the platform for a little lecture. Normally if 1 person would speak up about a line jumper(s) then other's that would normally not say anything would verify their story, so if you would have told, you probably would have had a heck of a lot of other people that were cut in line wanting the people busted too.

We'd always ask other guests around them to verify the story, and then if yes, they were line jumpers, they have to leave without riding. If they want to argue, we can call security -- at which point they usually see the wisdom of just leaving, even if they're complaining at the top of their voices. If they insist that they're going to ride and are making a big deal, we can always not dispatch the coaster (like if they're already on and refusing to get off) -- we can't touch them, but security can. Usually people won't argue too much, no matter how ticked off they are.

Kruggie, I can completely understand you being afraid, because I have been too! I've been physically threatened by guests when trying to make them obey the rules. One really big obnoxious guy was walking through a restricted area on Iron Dragon as a shortcut, and I told him that he'd have to leave the area and go the long way, and he made a fuss. We called security and had them look for the guy, but of course by then he's long gone and they won't find him. It isn't always nice and friendly working at a park like CP when some people think that they're entitled to anything, and it isn't always nice being a guest around those people! But for every jerk there are 999 nice guests that have nothing but great things to say, and it's people like you that make our jobs worthwhile.

One of the advantages to working at PT is that you can actually see most of the queues from the control booth. If you observe line jumping, you have the choice of reprimanding the guest(s) instantly or allowing them to get to the platform before you escort them to the exit.

The same can be said for the blue side platform of Gemini--perfect for watching the ques and spotting both line jumpers and smokers. Of course, my personal favorite was waiting for them to reach the platform and be next in line to ride. I would then (loudly) inform them of Cedar Point's "ZERO TOLERANCE" policy towards line jumping/smoking and escort them through the train (without riding) and down the exit stairs. Naturally, all of this was enhanced with my "zero tolerance" hand gestures...(right Dan?!?)

9 positions in 4 1/2 hours and still keepin' both sides happy!
Of course! Still my favorite gesture. "Cedar Point has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for smoking in line!" I plan on upholding your legacy to the best of my ability too. I might jazz it up with my "professional" touches as only I can do.
Yeah, the 'Dispatch' position on WildCat is great for catching those pesky little line jumpers, too....

you guys rule! I want your job! I would have so much fun there I just know it. When I return I am going to have to boldly smoke in line just so I can witness the "zero tolerance" gesture.
