JMB, if you are thinking of Freeway...where you could get a hand stamp to come back at a particular hour to ride, that is no longer in existence. They've never really had a Q-bot or Fastpass or whatever Six Flags called theirs.

Aren't a couple of the WDW trains former CP trains?
Cedar Point's Maud L. is now at Disneyland as the new Ward Kimball. The park traded with Disney in 1999 and received the 1927 Davenport (2-4-4) that Disneyland had acquired in 1995. Found to big for the Disneyland Railroad, and too small for the Disney World railroad, it ended up in the trade for the Maud L. a smaller train, which was sent to Disneyland where it premiered in 2005. Cedar Point stills has the Davenport, but it's not run because when Disney acquired it, they turned it into a diesel-powered engine.

So Cedar Point traded for a train they knew they wouldn't run? Or have they contemplated a switch to Diesel?

From what I've heard, the Davenport from Disney is currently in rehab, and will be returned to operation "once enough money is in the budget." Supposidly, once it returns to operation, Albert or Jennie K. will be restored, but as of what I last heard, there was yet to be a call. Personally, I would like to see the Jennie K. returned to service.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

Magnum Candy Man understands what I mean. I think it would be cool to have a CP & LE RR tour too. It too has a lot of history, and is the only daily operating, coal powered, steam train railroad still in operation in the US.
I hate for my first post to be one where I'm correcting someone, but CP & LE RR isn't the only daily operating coal/steam train.

With that said, I've been a lurker here for a long time and finally decided to join. This place is awesome, it's nice to be able to keep up with the daily happenings and still be so far away. I'm originally from Ft Wayne, IN so I've been to CP many times. Even now, being 500 miles away, I still try to make a 3 day visit once a year.
Yeah, typo on my part, that was meant to read "one of the only." But, Cedar Point's were all built as coal-powered engines, Dollywood's weren't; they were converted from oil-powered to coal-powered. :)

I've been through the P&D building once. But not as a tour. When Mean Streak was being built, I was up there for construction tours. On one occasion, we just passed through the building. They had a lot of old signs from the park stored in there at the time. I remember seeing the Sanfrancisco Earthquake sign. Things like this should be in town hall or auctioned off for charity. Should not be hiding in storage where no one can see.
lmclaughlin16 - anytime you take a tour like that, just ask politely how the pics can be used. I know when I had a tour of MF back in 2000 before it opened, they told us we could take photos as long as they didn't show up online. But once the ride opened, we were told we could post them.
I am glad you were decent enough not to post them without knowing what the park would think. When they open up the doors like that, it's good not to do anything wrong. All they have to do is say "no more".
