Arrived at park at 6:45, loved walking to Raptor while park in early morning mode, reminded me of working there and made me look forward to doing that again soon. Arrived at Raptor where I met the Discovery channel crew, and got hugs from the all the ride ops. I had on one of my MANY Raptor shirts, my Raptor jean jacket, my Raptor necklace, my Cedar Point socks, and of course "wore" my 2 Raptor tattoos to complete the outfit ;) Needless to say, the producer of the show (who I had talked to on the phone several times) looked at me and said "see, I told you she would be perfect!" One of the silver tags (who recommended me from the beginning) said the same thing :)
Finally time for me to ride and do my spiel. There is just something about trying to talk and ride a coaster at the same time, besides not being able to breathe, you get SUCH a case of cotton mouth! OK-2 shoots done, and I had to reshoot because I was being TOO enthusiastic!! WTH? I was having TOO much fun!!! The director told me he wanted me to be more factual and less fun!! OMG!! Let me just mention here how difficult it is for me to NOT act like I’m having fun when I ride Raptor. I ADORE the ride and do scream like a Banshee every time I ride!! We loaded the train with employee volunteers and did 2 more shoots. Empty train, then they mounted the camera forward and I got to FINALLY ride in "my" seat 8-1! I LOVE being the ONLY one on the train! ;) Total rides once all was said and done was 7-so now I’m up to 777 flights! :)
Shooting done, time for interview. They set a spot up near the 0 gravity roll (which btw, the screwed up SEVERAL times during shooting calling it the 0 cobra roll-I suck! I was very nervous about the whole shoot anyway and screwing up the ride pissed me off! :() There is nothing like having this HUGE camera in front of you, 3 guys holding those light things up, 2 other ones just standing there and EVERYONE passing by (park open to GP now) stopping and staring. The interview thing lasted maybe 30 minutes thanks to all the preparation, my part will last like 2 seconds, if that. They made me show my shoulder Raptor tat which disappointed me since I really wanted to show my new right calf one :(
Once Discovery all done with me I went to HR and filled out my contract paperwork and picked up my contract, off to the PR office to say hi to some friends, then back in truck and off to work. Let me just say here that by 6pm last night I was DRAGGING! I had been up a straight 22 hours before I finally got to sleep last night! Well worth it for me!!! The Discovery show supposed to air in about 6 months.
I know I can’t begin to thank my CP silver tag connections enough for thinking of me for the show. I know doing Maggie 2 years ago was great, but that is after all Dan’s baby, and to finally beable to do MY baby was SOO exciting for me! I can’t wait for the show to air! :)

Maybe I'll actually watch the coaster specials this season, when it's people like Magnum Dan I've got no reason. ;)

Who is this LuvRaptor, and have I met her?? I sure would like to. Or is it Raptor Jo? Her picture is too small in the members photo to recognize her. I am not sure if I have seen her at CP or not? Is Raptor her favorite ride? Does she know Mr. Skyward? How do I get to do a shoot for discovery channel? What's a silvertag, and can I meet one? ;)

Jo, how in the world did I miss you? I rode Raptor 246 times this season! I met Raptor Dave and Raptor Man Dave, but never you. I heard a lot about you, and I'd loved to have ridden with you. When I work at the park again next year, we have to get together sometime and marathon this masterpiece.
