Lights....

I agree that at least some of those are construction lights - the lights in the center are probably there so the workers can see the elevator shaft.

i think they're the countdown lights too. unless there is an airport nearby, why would a plane be flying 200 feet of the ground?

They are not countdown lights they are construction lights the countdown lights are huge and you should be able to see them in the middle of the day those lights tiny are to small to be seen in the morning.
Definitely construction lights because there isn't going to be three lights across, I've never seen that on any real dragster tree and the lights don't go all the way to the bottom catwalk like in the link, they are only on the top six. Besides, unless they're having some type of problems, wouldn't they have all of them lit up?

No attitude? What do you call your first post in this thread, a pep talk? All you did is make yourself look like an idiot.

I just hope the lights are bright enough to be visable during the day.

I am sure they will be. These cams aren't very great at picking up light.

Aww.....Florida! But That's America's Wang

I think some of those lights are the launch lights (top outside lights-slightly higher)& all the other lights will be lit all the time at night. They could be construction lights, but, I don't think so. We'll have to wait & see for ourselves, when the park is open.

exactly what are they constructing that would need that many lights...seem's like an awful expense to hang 12 lights, 3 per section all evenly spaced on the tower.......
But don't forget that that tower is very wide - those lights are further apart than they appear in the distance, so they need at least 3 lights per section to provide adequate light for the construction workers.

I might have missed somthing. But, I remember when they work on the tower they turn on flood lights from the ground that light up the whole tower. Also, If they were construction lights. WHY would they be so carefully and perfectly lined up on the tower. Doesnt really make sense. They would just put the where they need them. Anyway, i know those arent construction lights. Because i see the flood lights when they worked on the tower.

Also, These lights arent very bright. They wouldnt really provide that kind of lighting needed for those construction workers. They are just to carefully put on to be lights for construction.

2003 Coaster season Has Begun! Well, Atleast for me anyway ;)

I know that these are not the coount down lights for many different reasons such as:

1) like Big Jon said, they will be very big and able to see during the day time

2) a standard dragracing light tree has 2 sets of lights going across, not three

3) why wouldn't they show all 12 of the lights (2 sets of 6 lights running downward) ?

MF Laps- too many! WT Laps-enough for me to enjoy the rest of my off season! TTD Laps- NONE :(

I don't know still likes like a U.F.O. to me. On a real note here I don't think those are the count down light either because they're note colored but then again the could just put so sort of filter of the light so I might be wrong.

I just ran across the new Monty Jasper journal entry and it seems that those ARE the actuall lights going to be used on the ride. He discusses the testing of the lights in the newest article:

He discussed the uplights that light the tower from below, much like the lights on Wicked Twister's spikes and Raptor's cobra roll. There were a few pictures of the tower lit up with these a while back, but they certainly aren't the same ones that have been on the past few nights.

Oops! Sorry about that. I should know better than to read something at two in the morning :)! My own speculation of the lights on the tower are that they COULD be the lights everyone is talking about. I don't want to claim anything for sure unless it is official.

The lights are back on tonight if anyone was wondering.
Is it possible that they just put a lower wattage of bulb in the sockets for the countdown lights? Perhaps just to aid in construction? It's just a theory but I'd presume that the real lights will be much brighter, but with the precision which these lights are placed, I'd say that is where the final lights will be. To contradict my own observation, on the CP website on the top banner, when ttd lights up at night there are two lights per each beam. My conclusion??? I have no idea.

ONE freeway stamp a day... ONE
I don't think this has been mentioned yet, but do you think that it's possible that they have the lights positioned where they are right now just for testing purposes? First, it's easier to test the lights and make changes when they're lower to the ground and they put them 3 across on the tower. Second, there are 12 lights on the tower, just in 4 rows of 3 instead of the final 6 rows of two.
That's a really good observation Bob

I have a feeling that the lights are not up yet. I was out at the point yesterday and only saw the warning lights on the tower for aircraft, I saw no indication that the BIG countdown lights were up yet...
