Some people might need it for work. And like John said, it's nice to relax at night and watch TV and be able to check the weather forcast.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
With the job I have, I do need to stay connected just to stay on top of things. (Im kinda a workaholic) I just changed cell phones to a smart phone and with this new phone, I hope that will eliminate the need for Wi-Fi access. Time will tell. I do think for the resorts that maybe value does not equal the price. I will be interested in hearing the 2nd quarter earnings results for Cedar Fair on August 5th. I hope Dick mentions the performance of the resorts.
In visiting other parks, I just think Cedar Fair has not kept up with technology. Are they still using Windows 3.1 or have they upgraded to Windows 95 yet?
Ahh you work-a-holics. I want to work, but also enjoy life. Even when I became a zookeeper (my dream job), I am not going to be at the zoo for 15 hours of the day, and then come home to spend the next 9 hours doing zoo related work. That's just my opinion though.
"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"
Well when you work 40 hours a week at an IT company, and then own a business on the side who's entire presence is web based media, it's hard to get away from being connected. I even have internet in my car at almost all times.
^Internet in your car? Now that's what I called being wired. :)

Did Sandcastle get Wi-Fi during their renovation? If not, what was CP thinking?
Yes they got WiFi during their renovation. I have used it several times this year while staying at Camper Village.
Yet, I've got a clean safe driving record with only 1 speeding ticket at 4am while I was delivering papers when I was 19.....
For what it's worth, I'm only typically inattentive while storm chasing, and still pretty attentive or pulled off the road.
Yeah, teeny-boppers use a similar defense about texting while driving. Any way you slice it, distractions are distracting.
I cannot even really talk on a cell phone and drive at the same time. If I had blue tooth, maybe. But just holding it distacts me. So kudos to you Ben!

Well most of us can text with out looking so its pretty much the same as talking on the cell phone which i see happen very often by adults on the road. Its really funny cause i see cops doing it too.
^ - you can type without looking, but how do you know what they are saying back to you?
And trust me, at 16, 17, 18, you don't have the experience on the road to be trying to multi-task. Don't believe me? I used to be there doing the exact same thing.....and I did NOT have the experience to do it.
Goodbye MrScott
John
I actually find texting a lot harder than using a HAM radio or typing on a computer while driving. Texting is a pain.
what did everyone do before there was wireless??? or internet for that matter??? you just enjoyed where you were staying and what you had.
That's just crazy talk!
Not really. I'll check my personal e-mail while I'm out and about on vacation or doing leisure thing, but I've never, ever, agreed to be work connected outside of work. I'll never get people who lack that kind of balance.
But Wi-Fi at a hotel... that's useful for uploading your vacation photos, checking the weather, your flight status, surfing for porn if you're alone (just kidding), writing your interesting trip reports (just kidding), etc.
