Does anyone else think the new Lighhouse point looks like a trailer park? These new "Luxury" cottages surely look like mini Double Wides to me!!! TRAILER TRASHY!!!
I guess they're still in construction. I've heard that they are still landscaping and it will be a great place to stay at by June.

Haha, that's kind of what I thought when I first saw the pictures. It looks like there are hardly any trees around which would seem to go along with the whole camping experience. I'm hoping they fill it in with some nice grass and trees and make it more shaded and more like camping. I don't really know what it looks like other than the pictures, but I'll probably have plenty of time to look at it in 20 days when I arrive for work! :)

What's worse.... is that they bring them pre-assembeled on a trailer.. and basically drop them in place.. kinda like a trailer.. Few friends told me today that it is basically the name for the place.. So I laughed when I saw this thread..
Heading back up tomorrow...

I still say TRAILER TRASHY! If i wanted to pay that much for a double wide, i'd tow one up myself LOL
I was truly amazed at the amount of trees that were removed. The trailers themselves may be nice, but the setting doesn't look too inviting. It was quite a shock to be riding Mean Streak and seeing that area. Mean Streak seems much more exposed.

Camping??? You guys are still calling this area of the park camping??? CV and LP by no stretch of the imagination is camping. Trailers and cabins are not camping as much as someone may want to make believe they are. Camping is "you" versus "nature", not "you and a bunch of modern conveniences" versus "nature". If it doesn't involve a tent and a sleeping bag, I don't know what it is, but it's sure is not camping.
Well, some call it RVing, like those horrible commercials, 1-800-GO RVING. :)

Regardless, it still beats the paper thin walls of a hotel. Nothing more bothersome than hearing a party next door and sexual escapades while trying to sleep.....I will take the "trashy" aspect of this *every day* over the trashy aspect of that scenario......
No, I don't really consider it camping and I don't consider camping as x "versus" nature, I see it more as a partnership. It isn't a competition. Sleeping in an RV is just a glorified form of sleeping in your car in a parking lot. The cabins seem more appealing to me then a hotel however. A little more private, less institionalized.

sexual escapades in a neigboring tent can be quite bothersome too,lol
camping in ohio or michigan is rough for us indiana people,it gets late in those states way too early.
as for lighthouse point, and all the other resort additions at cp and the whole sandusky areago, i have already noticed they cause some great values in lodging on and off the point!
I had the chance to check out Jeffrey Spartan's cabin this weekend. Where else can you wake up, walk out the front door and look at the bay and the islands, then walk around back and see Magnum, Gemini, MF, and Mean Streak in all their glory. Personally I'm all for LP and the cabins and plan on staying there a few times this season. Yeah, the area still looks a little rough, but it's not 100% yet.
