Lifeguards working before Soak City opens question...

so i have a huge question to all experienced cedar point lifeguards.. i understand we get paid for the three days of lifeguard training which i have been told is one whole weekend. i process may 15th but soak city opens in june. do we get paid or work any other days besides those training days before soak city opens? or do we just chill the whole time until it opens? any info would be greatly appreciated.

You'll likely be on work crew, cleaning and setting up everything in soak city in preparation for it opening. It takes a lot of work to get all those pools cleaned each year, believe me.

we are currently doing work crew and you will be doing work crew on the days your not training. genererally bring a junk pair of shoes to work in cause there likley to get dirty. Work crew is a lot of fun for most people as it is a time to bond with some really cool people. Anymore questions feel free to ask.

Ditto on the junk shoes. I power washed Main Stream a couple years ago and was definitely glad I had brought some along. Also started the season with a nasty case of athlete's foot as a result, but that's neither here nor there.

Don't forget the beach! ...that's always fun.

thanks peeps. you really helped me there haha i got a two-in-one combo on crappy shoes as well as athletic shoes so i'm good to go. and funny thing is, i have to open my pool before i leave and we dont use a cover because stuff still gets in it anyways. gonna be a blast..... hahaha OH and i was wondering, i know tattoos have to be covered when actually on duty but do i have to have it covered for training and work crew??

^^ I had managed to block all memories of beach cleanup from my brain, thanks for dragging that back up. ;)

I'm pretty sure grooming guidelines don't apply during work crew, but I'd ask somebody first just to be certain.
